Can't find "shimmer"

The change log mentions a new "shimmer" cosmetic feature for buyers/donators. I have bought the game and updated to the latest version, but I've been unable to find any such thing in the game. Do I have to unlock something first?

It's in the Sher'tul fortress. If you're a new player to ToME and roguelikes you probably won't find it for 10 hours or so.
