Would we be able to get a "pure" character vault search page that allows us to search for characters that don't use any game-changing add-ons (i.e. ones that use ui/cosmetic add-ons only - or none at all, if that's not feasible). I like looking through winners to get a good idea of what's currently achievable, but it's somewhat pointless when a fair portion of them have level 1000 talents or scum escorts or modified game formulas or whatever. Also, the race/class boxes are extremely over-populated with add-on classes, so the separate search would be a much-appreciated convenience.
It's probably been at least 2-3 years since I've played with any regularity and a lot of classes have undergone major overhauls. This option would make ToME far easier to pick up again after extended periods of time away from the game (or for learning what's viable with race/class combos that you're not already familiar with).
If something like this is already available, please let me know. Thanks!

Re: A "Pure" Character Vault Search
Really what you need to be able to do is toggle specific addons on and off in the search.

Definitely with number here, there are a few gray area addons like choose your own escorts that some people might view as too game changing and others might be okay with, so a "doesn't include addon x" option would definitely be nice. Plus then no one would have to decide which addons are game breaking and which are just ui (although I guess giving addon creators the option to grade their addons by game breakingness so you can filter them would also be cool)

Yeah, that works. It would be nice if cosmetic add-ons could be classified as such, in addition to being able to choose whatever other add-ons you want to add to the list (with the option of disabling/enabling all add-ons).Pisastrish wrote:Definitely with number here, there are a few gray area addons like choose your own escorts that some people might view as too game changing and others might be okay with, so a "doesn't include addon x" option would definitely be nice. I'm in favor of modifying searches or addons or vaulting in order to make it easier to look for non-cheat wins.

Best way is probably to add the option to exclude certain addons yeah. As people might disagree on what's gamebreaking and what's not, so letting people customize it themself would be best.

But then you'd still have to scroll through a list of 660+ addons to select the ones you don't want.Razakai wrote:Best way is probably to add the option to exclude certain addons yeah. I am not sure there is a perfect solution (there are recent characters in the vault with no addons but dozens of prodigies).
But the solution with just the standard races and classes would be an easy first step.

This is a fantastic idea.
