Why are sometimes talent "glowing"?
Hi,
Sometimes, it appears on my shortcut bar that one (or several) talents are kind of glowing or shining (with a moving light moving around the talent pictogramm). What does it mean? Should I do something specific to unlock or trigger something?

either i missed something more than a ear of playing this game, or you aren't entirely clear.
either way, i will say this just in case its the thing.
if talent goes yellow after you click it, it means that the talent is currently being "sustained".
now that i think about it, i think there might have been the glowing stars circling the icon, similar to the WC3 autocast, but unless its also related to sustain, then i don't know.
although, speaking about autocast, if you right-click on an ability (that is not from an item) you get an autocast menu. try and see what that changes.
grey is unavailable
green border can be activated (or equipped)
yellow boder is one that comes from currently equipped item
whole yellow is sustained.
edit
i think talents blink when they become available. like come of cooldown, or requirement is met.

I suppose I'm not clear, then
I understand the different states you're mentioning, but my question is about a really particular state, where one talent has small moving colored ... "ray"? It gives the impression that the talent is somehow altered or more useful in the level, or something peculiar. I'll try a screenshot to help you understand when I see it next time!

I'm shooting from the hip here, but - perhaps you just activated a talent, but haven't targeted it yet?

Re: Why are sometimes talent "glowing"?
I've seen it for all kinds of talent, like healing talent on a sun paladin, so no target needed there. It really make the talent shine, not just a color change that we often see in the game, it just appears like once for each character, at a random stage of the game (usually at the start of a level, I think...).
Re: Why are sometimes talent "glowing"?
If you mean the talent icon on your bar glowing I believe it does so when you activate it, for visual feedback.

See the yellow bars on the healing infusion (yes, it appears for infusions as well, apparently ;-))? They move around the talent. And I'm wondering if it has any signification.

Re: Why are sometimes talent "glowing"?
I know that happens when you try yo use the talent and fail (for example because of confusion). But this is probably something different since you have it happening on an instant talent
I write guides and make addons too now, apparently
You can go here for a compilation of everything I wrote, plus some other important stuff!
Includes general guides (inscriptions, zone, prodigies), and class guides (Demo, Anorithil, Bulwark, Zerker, Sblade)

Like I said, that's visual feedback on talent usage.simongeorges wrote:See the yellow bars on the healing infusion (yes, it appears for infusions as well, apparently)? They move around the talent. And I'm wondering if it has any signification.
The glow is basically saying "you pressed this key".
It doesn't matter if it's instant or if it worked or not.

Re: Why are sometimes talent "glowing"?
But how come the glow stays during several turns (I could even autoexplore an empty level without the glow disappearing)?

Re: Why are sometimes talent "glowing"?
I have occasionally seen that swirly feedback effect get semi-permanently "stuck" on a talent's icon after using it. Sometimes it goes away when you use the talent again later. I've just been assuming it's a UI glitch; AFAICT it's harmless.simongeorges wrote:But how come the glow stays during several turns (I could even autoexplore an empty level without the glow disappearing)?

Ok, I tend to agree with the UI glitch. Anyway, that was just a dumb question ;-)
Thanks for all your answer and for taking the time!
