I actually have two separate issues, both related to Steam and Addons. Any help is greatly appreciated.
First, I have not been able to publish the last several updates for my Dark Priest addon to the Steam workshop. I can upload to te4.org without any issue, but when I try to upload to Steam I just get a message saying 'there was an error'. I had previously had the same problem with Prowler, and, at Stunt's suggested, toggled the 'Enable Steam cloud saves' option on, which allowed me to upload. I tried the same process, but I am still not able to upload the Dark Priest update. Anything else I could try (short of deleting the item from the workshop before trying to upload; I'm saving that as a last resort option, in case I still can't upload it)?
Incidentally, it was just brought to my attention that when I had the issue with Prowler it actually created a new item on the workshop when I was able to upload again, rather than updating the item that was already there. I've deleted the older item now, but I thought this was odd, and perhaps worth a mention, in case it's something that should be looked into. There were still many players subscribed to the old (very buggy) version.
The other issue actually has to do with addons downloaded from te4.org. I play ToME via Steam, and any addons that I subscribe to on the workshop will update automatically when new versions are published. That all works fine.
As I understand it, though, addons downloaded from te4.org should also update automatically when the game launches, if a new version is available. Is this correct, or am I mistaken? If this is correct, it does not seem to function correctly when playing via Steam. I have to manually update any addons that I download from te4.org, and I have confirmed with a few other Steam players that this is the case for them, as well. This includes both third-party and official addons (e.g. Embers of Rage).
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: [Steam] Addon Updating and Uploading
I suspect this is actually the same problem for both.
Check the item on the Steam Workshop and ensure that the addon data stored on te4.org contains the same Steam ID as Steam says it is.
Mismatch between them is what causes duplication on the Workshop and might also be causing the other problem.

Re: [Steam] Addon Updating and Uploading
Thanks, HP! There was actually no SteamID at all for Dark Priest on te4.org. I added it manually, and then I was able to upload the update.HousePet wrote:I suspect this is actually the same problem for both.

I checked Prowler as well, and it had no SteamID listed on te4.org, either. Oddly enough, I have updated that one a few times since I first had the issue and resolved it by turning cloud saves on. Must have been what caused the duplication, though.
So, that's the uploading problem resolved. I'll make sure to check that if I have any problems in the future.
Anyone know about the auto-updating situation?
Re: [Steam] Addon Updating and Uploading
If you are using the steam version then it assumes addon updates are done by steam workshop, I think.
