Worm that Walks uses blindside through walls?

#1 Post by Coldbringer »

I was going through the vault that has a series of square rooms you have to dig through each. The middle of digging WTW, from another sealed off room, somehow detected me and cast blindside. I survived, jumped away, went around a corner out of LOS. The moment I step around the corner WTW casts Blindside, again. Kills me.

Same skill. Twice in 3 rounds. Through walls. No line of sight.

Is this a bug or just bullshit imabalanced? This monster seems to defy all the rules of the game that players and other monsters are bound by. Disgusting.

Possibly a bug was introduced to this skill when the vault teleportation rules were changed.

I may be wrong, but Blindside is a teleportation skill that can be used without direct LoS - you just need to sense the target somehow, so Preternatural Senses or Vimsight should be enough to use Blindside on a target behind the wall...

And i'm sure you can teleport inside the Vaults.

Somehow I remember using such tactics on my Cursed run.
Again, I may be wrong - the memory of mine is not a reliable source...

You can use blindside without having any vision of your target at all. I once was trapped in a vault (the one with locking doors and teleporters) and had no way out besides a blindside ego'd item. Targeted a adjacent room on the off chance that a monster was in there, and it worked.

I think it was OK only if you had Blind-Fight...

Ah so that monster has abilities to detect me. But how did it use the Blindside skill twice in 3 turns? Isn't the cooldown longer than that? Turn 1, Blindsided me. Turn 2 I jump down a hallway. Turn 3 I go around a corner, 1 step, instantly Blindsided again and dead.

Could have been more than one? Or maybe one of the Blindsides wasn't.

Or maybe they are just plain evil.

Hadn't thought of that, could have been a second one. Or perhaps it was wearing equipment that granted the Blindside skill as well.

The ones in the vaults of the last area of EOR definitely are evil. They spawn at around level 130 (on Nightmare at least) and can do over 1,000 damage per turn.
