When a character takes Antimagic the Alchemist quest still goes on. You can even ingest arcane-infused potions and neither the Alchemists nor Zigur really give a toss. I always thought this slightly odd, especially after the lore relevant note from the former alchemist and the mage running away when you try to talk with him (for good reason I might add). I get game/story segregation, but this feels to me like something that could be remedied.
What if when you take Antimagic you can't complete the quest or use potions, but there are similar ways to get the relevant boosters? We already know that Zigur facilitates the means to make non-arcane solutions (drake extract), so what about a quest with a list involving all natural ingredients? Or a quest that involves just killing one very strong and potent monster and obtaining a part of it? Of course there would probably need to be a check to prevent exploiting this to get two of each booster.

Re: Antimagic and Alchemy.
the worshipers of nature hates magic.
where is it explicitly stated and proven, that nature itself hates magic?
i mean, like "PURGE ALL THE HERECTICS!" level of hate.
magic disapproves of being controlled, but you sure it hates potions too?
Remember that EVERYTHING we read, is HEAVILY biased.
majority of nature worshipers hate magic, not all of them though.
and as for mages side... well, purge DID happen, so when one detects anti-magic in you... well, its rather obvious you would like to slaughter him, so can't blame him for running.
on the other hand, it is an anti magic potion, designed specifically to disrupting arcane forces.
we don't know how the potions exactly work
the arcane portion may fade away, once its done making its work on you, so zigur has not much to say in this scenario.
the AM potion though, could prevent it from having an effect.
well, if zigur can make a non-magic potion then so can alchemists! just make the alchemist's potions non-magical or something.

Re: Antimagic and Alchemy.
I think alchemist potions ARE nonmagical. After all, they're made from body parts, not spells. As you say, this could stand to be more evident.
(As for nature hating magic; arcane disrupting items are the main clue.)

Re: Antimagic and Alchemy.
body parts is what we collect.
We do NOT however know that these are the ONLY components.
pretty sure they say that these are the missing components, meaning there could be more.
some of which, could be spells.
but then, even if there are spells involved into MAKING the potion, we still don't know to what extend they are necessary.
After all, you can use magic, to make something non magical.

as for AM.
Not sure if that logic applies in the fantasy world, but as far as i know, nature doesn't have a "goal" on its own.
trials and errors, natural selection.
Although, the process shape the species, as much as species can shape the process.
It wouldn't bee too farfetched to say that the fanatics could have forced the change to go into a certain direction.
we know that there are individuals, who by calming their minds, and pretending to be beasts, can fool nature to lend them its power.
The only "naturally" occurring anti-magic, are oozemancers, and oozing horrors.
which, might, have been the basis for the zigur's own anti-magic, or, they might have appeared BECAUSE zigur developed its own anti-magic.
we do not know all that much.
and as far as AM items go, pretty sure they were made by ziguranths, so not nature made exactly.
Also, yeah, the whole spell blaze thing MIGHT have had something to do with it.
Again, over exposure to arcane fire and blight, might have caused certain species to mutate to counter magic, JUST to survive.
it was a bad time for everyone.

Re: Antimagic and Alchemy.
This bothers me as well. The same way as why do we need to talk so respectfully to the lady Sun Paladin? That "noble spirit" is nonsense. The dialog should at least indicate that we are pretend to help them to gather intel. Like "This place is full of evil arcane magic. I'm surrounded, so let's play along those infidels for now. I should report them back to Zigur, so we can deal with them later". Or offer an option to attack them on the spot: "Death to the evil magic!"
Re: Antimagic and Alchemy.
You are an adventurer. dedication for nature and hatred of all magic?
how about "i only drunk the stupid potion for a powerup, because dealing with this nonsense is really annoying."
when you find the apprentice, while being a "follower", he goes runing and screaming, and you stand there like "the hell did just happen?"
Deosen't seem like a proper zealot if you ask me.
although again, the game chooses for you who you are. it would be nice to chose that yourself.

Re: Antimagic and Alchemy.
Antimagic is already bad enough, no need to make it even worse. Something would have to be given to Antimagic characters to compensate.
