Lash Forth works when there is no npc adjacent, but I don't think it should. it's range is melee.

re corruption - is there a way to see how corrupted you are? or its effects?

Help - I am stuck in fortress because I am blighted, and it won't let me use the portal to get back to the world map to see summoner to be healed.

This is a brilliant hydra so I hope this is not a fatal bug .....

this is completely stupid - I can't do anything other than watch my character die... if I end up dying here, this would rate as the all time dumbest idea ever put into an addon = killing a character who is going perfectly well. AND, I went to the spell blaze because the PLOT told me to !!!!!!!!!! which is where I got badly corrupted.

This is the risk you take when you play without developer/cheat mode... I can't even suggest a way to fix that via the console until the add-on updates again... :lol:


But seriously though, that's strange. Blighting shouldn't be preventing you from entering the world map. Looking into that right now.

Apologies in advance if the pics are a bit large... it's something of a pain to get them at a bearable size and still readable on this comp, and I'm currently sick enough I don't feel like it :P

Anyway, so... when I use heatstroke, this is happening: Image

Video options are: Image With graphics mode being ASCII 32x32

Any idea what's wrong, and/or how to fix it? Is it possibly being caused by a mod conflict?

... also, while I'm here, I've noticed that my character sheet on fire drake says Attack Count: 7, but all I'm doing is a single bite. Am I forgetting to invest in a particular talent or somethin'?

Ah, and before I forget, in what I think is the latest version I'm finding that when I talk to the apprentice mage, after the second dialogue option this error is popping up:

Any idea what's up? I'm fairly sure I don't have any mods running that effects dialogues, and definitely none that pokes the mage, so... yeah. Also it locks you into the dialogue when it starts happening. No way to cancel out, select an option, etc. -- just keeps tossing up the error every time you highlight an option or try to select one.

Ya, "Heatstroke" has always been a... "problematic" talent. Let's just say that. However, that... "appearance"... Well... I have no clue. I only dabbled in the graphical side of things, to be honest :?

You WOULD be able to attack 7 times...-- If you had 7 heads. :lol:

I've looked into the apprentice mage thing. I can't seem to replicate the problem... Can you make it happen consistently?

For fire drakes, yeah. Don't recall the problem being there for hydras or ritches. Doesn't seem to take anything special, just trying to talk to the guy, and it's happened on two different characters, so far. If you're not able to replicate, I'll have to do some quick testing to check and see if it's anything obvious on my end -- clean version, no other addons, and so on. It'll just be a little bit... power's been a bit unstable for the last little bit (storms, etc.), and I can't exactly play T4 on my kindle :lol:

Besides OoTS: Vanilla Stone Wardens, Item Vault, Proper Time Hounds, the Crucible, Marson's Bosses Gone AWOL, New Gem Types, Tomes of Knowledge, Gnomes, Bazaar, AEther Operators, Campaign Uncapper, Improved Auto-explore and Rest, Chaotic Races, The lost city of Vulcus 1.4, and Adventurous Arcane Combat. Kinda' need to get around to checking how some of those interact with OoTS, actually. Can see there being some oddities with the gem types and tomes in particular...

It's... not unlikely there's some kind of conflict, really. Like said, just need to get around to checking without, which'll probably not be tonight (if I start messing around with T4 now I'll probably not get to sleep at a decent hour :lol:). But hopefully within 24 hours, heh.

There actually is a minor conflict with AEther Operators, if you were curious. It also has a talent called Firewall, heh. Not even remotely major, and easy as pie to fix (I just renamed the AO one, ha). Though if anyone was wondering, I've got that particular addon because Chaotic Races without a way to delete talents... doesn't end well. And that's about the least impactful addon with the functionality that I've noticed.

... incidentally, if you even remotely cared, psi-held weapons don't show for... any of the new ragdolls, far as I can recall. Basically a complete non-issue, but if you ever consider doing anything with opening up the avatar talents and/or monstrosity races to more stuff it might be worth knowing ahead of time.

Actually anyone can enable developer mode. You just have to add a flag to a settings file in your game config. (Can't remember exact details...)

As for Frumple's problem, those colour wheels are distortion maps. I'm guessing they would be used to make a heat haze ripple on the flame particles, if the game was running with distortion shaders enabled. I'm guessing the vfx is not correctly checking the shader settings.

Okay, the apprentice mage thing is looking a lot like a mod conflict. Turned off everything cept OoTS and the conversation worked fine. Now it's just a matter of figuring out which one it is, ahaha.

E: ... or not, because now I've got all the same ones turned back on and it's not happening. Looks like it might be something more esoteric... certain items equipped, talents learned, or whatev', maybe in conjunction with addons, maybe not. I'm... probably not going to expend that much effort trying to figure out what the trigger is, heh. Might if I had a better computer, but saving/loading/restarting takes an annoying amount of time on this clunker and yeeeaaaah.

Even though I'm not really "prioritizing" mod compatibility... By technicality, it's a thing that inhibits normal gameplay-- And thus, I have to, AT LEAST, make an effort to fix it. Next MINOR update, I'm going to change the identification of my "Firewall" talent so that there won't be a conflict anymore. However, that's not for a while.
