The plans for Natural Combat sound good. It will be interesting to see how it plays out once it is implemented. There are any number of mechanics that could be used for restoring Wild Power. A good way to prevent it from being regenerated 'out-of-combat' would be to limit whatever mechanic you use to activating only when enemies are in sight. It could then be based on dealing/receiving damage, consuming Equilibrium, using a bump attack, moving, or even waiting a turn.

I have no idea what Lifelinks are :?

After reading this, I decided to to do an experiment with Ritch to see if you could 'safely' corrupt yourself via Stings. Turns out, you can :D So after sitting in town and stinging myself over and over, I managed to surpass my corruption limit. I was slapped with a hefty 500 turn debuff that said the condition would worsen when the timer ran out. Out of curiosity, I decided to wait and see what would happen. I died. I'm not sure if you always die at this stage, or if it just slapped on another stack of the debuff, which would have reduced my maximum life below 0 (presumably killing me).

Took a break from Ritch after that and decided to start another Drake run. I have a couple bugs to report:

If you click on an item in a Decoration slot it will give you the option to Consume it, but if you try to it will instead Consume whichever item is highlighted in your inventory.

Drakelings appear to only be able to learn a talent when their stat is greater than the requirement. Either that, or there is an error in the log message. I have seen it report, multiple times on this run, that a Drakeling did not learn a talent because of insufficient stats, and then follow it with something like 'wil 8 < 8'. Now, I'm no mathematician, but I'm pretty sure 8 is not less than 8 :P
I checked the Drakeling's character sheet, and the number being reported in the log matches their stat, so if it is just a mistake in the log, I assume it is on the requirement end. Or it could be a rounding thing, but if Drakelings are receiving a fraction of a stat point somehow, I would suggest rounding that instead, as it makes it impossible to asses their ability to learn a talent if the numbers are not being reported accurately.

Ya, but the current system is something people have gotten very comfortable with, for better or for worse. However, for that reason, this system might not be changing for a long time...

Errr, oops. :?
Forget I mentioned that.

"Corruption Threshold" is being lowered next update, meaning it will be easier to get corrupted. A lot of people have told me Corruption is a laughable issue-- And that just can't be allowed.
Also, "Corruption" kills you the moment it would cause your life to decrease below 0. Also, out of curiousity... Did you figure out how to cure it?

Investigating the Decoration Slot thing-- That sounds pretty suspect...

The "Drakeling" bug might actually be a rounding issue
When displayed in the character sheet, I think it always rounds the number value up-- But when it's compared for learning purposes, it uses the true number (for example, your Drakeling might have had 7.83 Willpower vs 8.00 Willpower)
I'll try to make this NOT happen anymore-- In fact, I might have it just round UP their stats when checking if they can learn something.
Long story short: MY BAD :?

Oh yeah, no, I understand you're not making any changes to Natural Combat any time soon, and that's fine, I was just throwing ideas out for when you do. I look forward to the changes, but as you say, I am used the way it works now, and any major changes at this point would, at the very least, likely significantly change my generic point investment.

No worries, you didn't say what it is or anything, and it was already mentioned in the Summoning Timer QoL add on, I just haven't discovered them yet. I'm assuming I just haven't progressed far enough yet. My Ritch runs have all ended in the tier two dungeons. I've done a couple Drake and Hydra runs, but so far only one Hydra has made it past tier two, and he quickly died to a guardian in the Ruined Dungeon. I should say, this is only a reflection of my ability (and more so my impatience). While I admit that OoTS is tougher than vanilla ToME, it's not that much tougher, and almost all of my deaths have been directly related to carelessness. I'll get there some day  Playing OoTS (especially Ritch) has actually already improved my game play noticeably.

I did not figure out how to cure the corruption, or really try. I wanted to see what happened when the debuff expired, and after it killed me, I didn't feel up for going through the whole process again. Like I said, I was just messing around for the sake of experimenting. I've never come anywhere near being corrupted in normal game play, so we'll see what happens when the threshold is lowered.

Hah! I make THEM take the stuns! It's not like the AI understands how to save them for the REAL problem (me) :)
Then I'd have to chug a nice +10% global penalty (and let my kid die ;_;7)

btw, 4 rings of perseverance will give hydra stun resistance. at higher levels, you could do this with 3 rings.

and other gear as well.

I'm finding actually that the big issue is burst dmg from spell casters, like 500 lightning dmg etc. So I'm concentrating on resists as I go further into the game. Using gems for this.

i have huge armour, so melee is generally not a problem.

OMG - mindstars can pair up on hydra heads - YES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought I had tried this and failed, but then it suddenly worked. Not sure how, but this makes a MASSIVE difference.

I can get 100% stun resist now just from mindstars :-)

Ah ha! It's sounding like jenx is figuring out the meta-build for late-game Avatar play... :D

I find "Stun/Pin Immune" + "Healing Mod" rings to be absolutely FANTASTIC on all the avatars

Have you considered changing consume so that it cannot be locked by stun effects? That way it would be more of a viable infusion alternative.

Good idea-- If I figure something out, I think I'll do that for ALL "utility" type talents (such as "Raise Drakelings", "Role Model", "Killing Blade" etc...)

... Of course, this means the likelihood of losing USEFUL talents when stunned will be MUCH higher, so this would essentially be like buffing stuns... :D

"Odyssey of The Summoner" has been updated!! (Version 0.3.2)

*** Version: 0.3.2 ~ "Now with more/less corruption!"

[KNOWN ISSUES]
- I am aware that The Summoner will STILL offer his services, even when you are currently betraying him (haven't reported anything to him). I intend to fix this as soon as possible. For now, enjoy the free betrayal!
- Using "Decorate" in the inventory menu will sometimes select "Consume"

[General]
(CHANGES)
- The following talents are now considered as "innate". Innate talents never fail and cannot be put on cooldown by cooldown-reset effects (such as Stuns, "Amnesia", "Rod of Annulment", etc...)
> Gluttony (was always innate; just an FYI)
> Consume
> Clasp
> Raise Drakeling
> Role Model
> Killing Blade
> Bladed Mail
> (Some other talents that will not be mentioned)

*** I truly hope this will have no side effects!
- I was told "Blighting" is a near-laughable issue! THAT'S NO GOOD! Blighting Threshold is now 30% lower!
- You can no longer increase Corruption by hitting yourself with Blight damage. (Nice try Ritch!)
- Choosing "Inspect" will no longer close the window, therefore preventing incidents during Transmogrification

(BUGS)
- The various "*** Hydra" talents no longer require heads if you are NOT a hydra. (DUH!!)

[Hydra]
(BUFFS)
- "It" now grants you a special "Venomous" head in addition to "Spit Poison". I hope people don't reroll for this too much!
*** Sorry, forgot to patch this in to hydras who have already gotten this! :(

(NERFS)
- "Glare Heads" now have a HIGH critical hit chance-- Not GUARANTEED.

[Drakeling]
- When inheriting talents, stats will now round up. You should no longer see something like "8 < 8"

Latest version, Extra Dungeons (no prior conflict) and QoL1 addons only, consumed the Blood of Life, but upon death I still got the "You died" popup and was considered dead. This also covered up the popup underneath that presumably would have informed me that I was revived instantly.

Hmmm... I have QUITE a few guesses about how that happened. Describe with any detail you can your character's talents, your situation, etc... It will help me figure this out A LOT.
