How to float points?

#1 Post by seattlesid »

Hi folks. Maybe it's super simple....but can someone take a moment to break down the idea of floating points? I don't know how many points can be moved and when. Probably there is a guideline somewhere I am overlooking.

thanks!

Right-click in the talent screen takes off the point away from the talent. You can only do so in towns nowadays, though, and only to the last 4 talent points you've assigned (regardless of the talent distribution).

4 class, 3 generic, only in cities.

you can only unassign THE LAST points used.
so if you used a class point somewhere, and then used 3 more, you can still unlearn that one.
however, if you put 1 more on top of it, then "that one" will be forever there, impossible to remove.

unless you have an addon that changes that, but that's cheats. and you wont be able to add it to already existing game.

Ok, so you can't store up a bunch of points by moving them around in some tricky way. Just the last ones....up to 4 and up to 3 generics. Got it. Thanks folks!

well you can... not spend them?

also, certain talents "alter the world in a permanent way" and you cannot unlearn those. ever

There are also addons letting you float as many as you like.
