So do all forms of damage reduction, such as thick skin, elemental resistances and so on, also apply when the damage is applied to a shield (from a rune)?
I always assumed this is the case, but I'm not entirely sure.

No, resistance is only applied when you take the damage.
My feedback meter decays into coding. Give me feedback and I make mods.

Re: shields and resistance, damage resistance
oh I didn't know that. So shield effects can get annihilated quickly. No armor or resistance reduction to damage done to them, interesting
"You could skip it, i think it drops 0 xp and 1 copper [at most], you are better off selling oxygen to beggars to become rich."

Yeah, was useful to know that for me too (also I suspect I asked this before and forgot answer )).
English isn't my native language.

I *think* that the damage reduction hymn (from 3 spaces or more) actually has precedence over damage shield, but haven't checked the source to confirm it. Either that or my Sun Pally was just getting lucky with crappy damage from dragons.
