Solipsism Tree

When you invest talent points into the solipsism tree, it changes the health / CON and psi / WILL amounts. Does this change apply retroactively or only to further points put in? If the latter, does that mean taking off and putting back on gear will change your stats?

pretty sure its retroactive.
just put a single point in it and see if your health drops and psi rises. it should
