Can't see the bottom of the map

#1 Post by roffster »

I'm reasonably sure there is an easy fix for this, but when I make 2 rows of buttons, the bottom level of the map is covered. Is there a way to lower the buttons so they are always off screen or move the screen up when required?

IIRC, pressing CapsLock starts a scroll-screen mode, in which pressing arrows just moves the map.

Alternatively, you can try to lower either the size of tiles, or the size of talent buttons. Usually you don't need more then 10 rows above and under your character.

The problem isn't that too few rows of map fit, it's that the map fills the whole window even though the bottom is usually entirely covered with the talent bar. The game scrolling assumes you can see those tiles and won't scroll down when there are no tiles beyond them to reveal.

Using capslock to scroll prevents you from using keyboard movement and it not an option.

Change the UI layout from minimalist to classic. The main downside is that you can't remove a positive effect. But there's an addon for that.

Thanks for that. I can now see the bottom of the map. Is there a way to get two levels of skill buttons as well?

No, Classic view can't do that as far as I know. Also last time I checked you couldn't end a buff early in classic view.

As for your scrolling problem, it's explained there how it happens : http://forums.te4.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=45625

In the mean time, the best trick I found is to scroll the view by left click dragging the screen when you are on the problem maps.

Increase "Icons hotkey toolbar rows" in UI settings.

My chosen approach was to move the hotkey toolbar to the left, resource bars to the top, and tall, transparent things like log and chat to the bottom, so I have a roughly square visible area. While this technically means things on the left can still be hidden by the toolbar, this is less of a problem than the bottom because the screen is wider than it is tall.

Well the bug happens only when a level is just slightly smaller than your screen in a direction :p So it can be kinda random but yeah I feel like the issue is mostly for vertical scrolls than horizontal.

I second moving the bar to the left. I play with three columns. Lets you see all your abilities while still maintaining equal vision on the x and y axes.

The positions don't correlate nicely with the keys unless you use 1, 12, 24, or 36 rows.
