Can't make multiple unique tinkers?

Was trying to make a second Gloves of Creation - game message says I use the ability, but nothing is created (and no resources used). Is this how it's supposed to work?

why would you make another one? and what part of "unique" do you not respect?

Dude, chill. Both the unique weapons are used by duel-wielding classes, so it's natural to try this. Gloves would be less useful, but that's no reason to go off on a guy.

As far as I can tell, it's intentional that crafted uniques actually be unique. It's definitely not obvious, though, given the crafting UI does nothing to stop you from trying, and like you said there's no failure message.

1) unique objects cannot exist in two unless there's a bug going on
2) you cannot vault unique objects

You can vault tinker capstone gear (hope that doesn't change really), though it blocks making it in the new game if you do.

"unique" is the game's name for what players more commonly call artifacts, which you can definitely vault. Are you maybe thinking of plot items?

The confusion of terms is my fault. I play so many of these types of games and they all have different names for the stuff. Artifacts, Legendaries, Epics, Uniques. It all jumbles together in my head

I think for TOME it's just artifacts. A unique would be like the Rod of Recall.

My OP was about how creating Tinker artifacts, you can only make one with each character. Like Steamcutter or Payload. Now I'll be interestd to see if i vault one, take it with another tinker character, will I still be able to make the same one with them?

Oh s***! Does it block making it in the new game even if I don't take it out? I put gloves of creation in the vault, then decided the character who made them needed them more and withdrew them. Other tinker character never took them out
