I heard on the grapevine that darkgod was considering reworking skirmishers. My favourate class to play is rogue and I thought I would offer up some ideas on the acrobatics tree which have rogue and skirmishers in common, two of the weaker classes.
The idea is that I think acrobatics is an interesting tree and could do something to make things more interesting (as opposed to making rush ground targettable, which made a lot of these skills really similar), while also giving it some buffs to benefit two of the weaker classes in the game at the moment, rogues and skirmishers.
Vault
Stamina Cost: (Unchanged)
Cooldown: 10 (Unchanged, not sure if this needs to change)
Use Speed: 1 turn (movement, unchanged)
Range: 2-5 cTS (or maybe 2-4 cTS), this is down from current.
Description: Use an adjacent friend or foe as a springboard, vaulting over them to another tile within range.
This maneuver grants you a burst of speed from your momentum, allowing you run 200% faster (movement speed bonus) in the same direction you vaulted.
Each turn the increased speed decreases by 100-50 % cTS until the bonus reaches 0.
The increased speed ends if you change directions quickly or stop moving. (Note for background, not shown in tooltip: changing directions quickly means changing directions more than once every 2 turns or changing directions by more than 45 degrees at a time.)
Activating the Vault talent also reduces the the current cooldown of tumble by 1 turn. (maybe 2 if talent level 5, or 2 if talent level 5 with cat point)
Tumble
Stamina Cost: 0 (unchanged)
Range: 2-3 cTS (down from 2-4 cTS, maybe make range 4 available with a cat point)
Use Speed: Instant (Unchanged)
Cooldown: 20,18,17,15,14 (scaled on raw talent)
Description: Unchanged
Trained Reaction and Superb Agility Unchanged.
If everything is maxed out, you can tumble into position to vault (1 turn), and have another tumble in 5 turns, or 6 turns if vault needs a cat point to increase tumble reduction by 2 and no cat point is spent.
Obviously, the base mastery of this tree needs to be tweaked, not sure if it is stronger on rogues or on skirmishers.
Please take this thing and implement it as a whole, or take the concept and change the numbers, or take bits and pieces that you like, or just let it inspire new ideas on mobility talents and comment lots!

I, ah. I don't think Skirmishers are underpowered. I'm not certain how good they are on PCs but they're so strong on rares they've been banned from rares until they're reworked.
