fps drops when window not selected

The fps of the game drops drastically when the window is not selected, then when it is selected all the skipped/lagged frames flood in.

OS: Windows 10
Ram: 24GB
V-Card: Nvidia GE-Force GTX 660 TI - 4GB Video ram

nothing new, so probably everyone knows.

since it only happens when we are looking elsewhere anyway, probably no one cares that much about it.
but at the same time i won't say no to changing that.

that's a feature; thought I suppose it could be made optional

can you make so the particles just cease being produced while the player look elsewhere? and it might be an option.
