ToME 2.x-ah Repository Moved To GitHub

#1 Post by AnonymousHero »

TL;DR: The ToME 2.x-ah repository has been moved to GitHub.
  • I've moved only the "master" and "v2.4" branches since the other branches have all been either a) merged, or b) are irrelevant at this point.
  • All tags have been moved.
  • I will keep up the old repository at GitLab for a few weeks or so, and "Archive" it at some point. This will mean that it will "disappear" from GitLab, but deep links to it should still work AFAICT.
  • The "theme" repository has not been moved yet, but I'll move it shortly. DONE

Heh. I was wondering for a while if this would happen. Everything is on GitHub these days.

Looking at the recent changes: did you somehow get rid of the Boost dependencies? Or is it just that the README is dated?

Edit: nope, dated. boost-filesystem and boost-system are still needed.

README is dated -- unfortunately it's a bit difficult to know what packages are necessary since I don't actually have an Ubuntu install at the moment. Pull requests welcome! :)

(The README should also be converted to markdown, and probably have a little more intro copy.)

It might be safer to just advise people to install the entire Boost library and devel package (libboost-all-dev on Debian/Ubuntu). That's a hundred MB or so, but disk space is cheap.

Edit: and presumably would-be T2 developers all have broadband.

Right. I've added this to the README and reformatted it for markdown.

It should really contain a small intro to the game (and perhaps a screenshot), I suppose, but hopefully a properly formatted README at least helps a little bit.

Oh, and are you alright with me just closing https://gitlab.com/tome2/tome2/merge_requests/6 immediately? I assume you still have the thing in your own mirror, etc.?

It can wait, but if possible I'd like to move to "Archived" status for the GitLab repository ASAP just to make everything read-only. It shouldn't affect deep links (such as the above), but it'll mean that the repository cannot be searched for on GitLab.

No problem whatsoever. My trap removal is incomplete anyway; I'll have another go at it some other time.

I've updated the README with a screenshot, at least.

FWIW I've resuscitated my old GitHub account... Perhaps I will try the trap removal stuff again this evening.
