Hello there, I'm new to the whole forum/TOME thing and I've only managed to get past Dreadfell once or twice in the several dozen hours I've played the game. I've noticed the OldRPG tile pack was popular several years ago, and I've managed to mesh it with the existing graphics from TOME 1.3.1. My questions are as follows:
1. Is anyone interested in playing around with it? I haven't added anything to it, so there is a mix of new graphics with the old, which can look a little silly at times.
2. Is it even legal/reasonable for me to make a copy accessible? I've presumed that the project is dead from lack of info, but if someone is still working on it to release with a new version of TOME, I wouldn't want to step on their toes.
3. I'm updating the pack for my own use as I see fit. On starting a new character I receive the odd error, but I haven't run into anything game-breaking yet. The update process has seemed pretty trivial for me, has anyone previously tried to update it and found it too complicated? I'm wondering why it hasn't been done before.
Anyways, if anyone more experienced and knowledgeable could shed some light on these things I could figure out how to go forward.
Thanks!
Tileset: OldRPG compatable with v 1.3.1, anyone interested?

Unless I'm mistaken (and I could be) the contents of addon's are considered open source, so forking it would be legal, as long as you don't try to sell it, and it would only be proper etiquette to leave credit to the original author. OldRPG used to be insanely popular, and it's much missed by a great many of us. I'm not aware of daftigod or anyone else coming back to work on it, sadly, so there probably isn't any legal issue in forking it. (There are other forked addon's on the site currently, for support of this.)
I stand ready for someone to correct me if I'm wrong however.
(Like Daftigod coming back... *crosses fingers*)

Super interested! I never got to use/test it or mess around with it (1.3.1 is when I really started playing the game), and I assumed that it was difficult to update because of lack of new icons for NPCs/mobs/what have you. If it's all just scripting, well, maybe I'll even try and help out.

Hey Crim, thanks for the quick response! That's what I was expecting to hear, but I wanted to check first. I suppose what I'll end up doing is posting what I have so far over the next few days for people to use, if they would like. I've gone through and checked the first 6ish dungeons so far (haven't done a dwarf yet) with my unkillable Bulwark (I'm playing exploration mode) and everything... mostly looks like it fits together.
I've made a few odd changes here and there, trying to patch missing textures and rename those that have been changed. The trees alone have been taking far longer than I had expected and can sometimes look a little goofy. Still, the quirky retro graphics are fun to play around with, I hope others can enjoy it as well.
I'm editing areas as I play through the game and adding in new tiles as I come across them. I would post a follow-up question to whoever would like to reply: what would you want to see added to the retro-graphics package? If anyone has an idea of sprites that they think should be included, I would think I could find the time to add them in. Some of the modded monsters added in the last version of the patch (for version 3.38 or something) are particularly ugly and unfitting, so if you see any good 16x16 or 32x32 sprites please let me know.
