Bonus Escorts

This addon adds additional escort types, and the attached rewards.

It is available here.

Currently, it adds Psion escorts and Wilder escorts.

Psions can give:
Psionic/Dreaming
Psionic/Mentalism
Psionic/Augmented Mobility (In my game this no longer grants Beyond the Flesh, but that might be another addon's doing. That interaction is why you can't grab Skate as a single talent.)

Psychometry (Mentalism 1)
Slumber (Dreaming 1)
Lucid Dreamer (Dreaming 2)

+2 Cunning
+1 Willpower

Wilders can give:
Wild-Gift/Call of the Wild
Wild-Gift/Fungus
Wild-Gift/Mindstar Mastery (I gave them so many cause Fungus and Mindstar are fairly locked to wilders and ziguranth. This gives mages the opportunity.)
Technique/Conditioning (Because otherwise undead have No options here.)

Nature's Touch (Call of the Wild 2) (They only get one talent due to three cats.)
Vitality (Conditioning 1)

+2 Willpower
+1 Constitution

-Wilders can now get conditioning. They can no longer pick Psiblades the talent - there seems to be a limit on how many reward choices you can have. I removed Psiblades as anyone who wants it is going to want 5 in it, and thus the category.

unless you made your own few talents that can only be learned from an escort... has that been done yet?

I totally agree. This addon would be much cooler if it were one custom tree and one that was already in the game. More diversity, y'know.

Getting Telekinetic Grasp as an escort reward, without even having to spend a category point, is ludicrously powerful. Being able to psi-wield a gem or staff is why a lot of adventurers are willing to blow one of their cat points on a mindslayer tree they'll only put 1/0/0/0 in. Lucid Dreamer on the other hand seems like a great option to add even if it's a one-point wonder.

I am unlikely to code bonus talent trees just for this. I have a lot of complex projects in the works, this was meant to be a quick side thing. (Took two nights anyway...)

If you really think the Wilder doesn't have enough options, I might put another talent option on there - Psiblades or whatever the first Fungus talent is. If Psion needs more options I'll prolly go more out there and let them pick Feedback.

As for a Corrupt Escort, there aren't currently any good generic trees to grant. (Well, there are curses and hexes, but I really don't /like/ curses and hexes.) Might want to watch out for my Emblazoned addon though, coming soon, as that adds a generic tree that'd work fine for this.

Also, we're still missing an Afflicted escort. ;P

@Stinkstink: I'll level with you; wanting to provide telekinetic grasp was a large amount of why I made this addon. What I might do is add a dummy talent that does nothing except give you telekinetic grasp/beyond the flesh, and have the escort grant you that. That way you're actually choosing between telekinetic fighting and dreaming/lucid dreamer, and not getting Skate as a bonus on top.

If you want to make it more balanced, you could just require using a category point to unlock a Mindslayer tree instead of giving a talent directly. That would still be extremely strong, but at least you don't get it for free.

I agree that giving Telekenetic Grasp and Beyond the Flesh without at least a category spent is a little OP. I don't really think an Afflicted escort is the best idea in the thematic sense either. A Defiler escort would probably fit under the same header, but would certainly be interesting.

That said, would a Bulwark escort that teaches Shield Expertise or an Archer that teaches Bow/Sling mastery be OP?

I am waaay more likely to do an afflicted escort than 'another warrior but this time with shields.' I really like afflicted.

No escorts so far give Class talents. Without exception, they give Generics. I might make an exception for a tree that is largely passive (and really /should/ be generic) like Stealth or Gloom, but... Shield Defense is the Bulwark's unique thing.

Archer on the other hand I could easily see. Opens up a lotta options that don't otherwise exist. Or a couple, at least...

No escorts give class Categories, and only loremaster gives class talents.

Psion escorts now offer the Mentalism category in addition to Augmented Mobility/Dreaming, and offer the Psychometry talent instead of Skate.
(This incidentally offers another way to get a mental effects cleanse for undead, besides the Light category.)

Wilder escorts now offer Psiblades. They still offer literally nothing for people who can't use wild-gifts. I can't really think of a solution for that, unless I code a talent that says 'you can now use wild-gifts', which would be iffy. And hard.

you could become the apprentice of the grand corruptor, and corrupt their portals, so they will offer corrupted talents.

Actually an interesting idea for the whole Afflicted escort idea that I never thought of when mentioning things thematically: the escort in particular when the choice is presented doesn't really reveal who they are even in the title if they're cursed. You receive the "misfortune" completely without knowing it, and can't pick a stat option meaning whatever choice you pick you're cursed. This could also be done with an Undead escort if there was any reason for one for the sake of not making it a dead giveaway it's a cursed person, with the reasoning being they're wearing a cloak (Corruptor skills?)

Willpower+2? Spell Save? Or if you want to dip into the betrayals, Field Control is there and Track would make sense. Mindstar Mastery is still pretty useful for mages in any rate.
