Just curious, what do people think about re-enabling this?
Currently loans seem to be implemented (surprisingly?) in a way that's not too unbalanced; the merchants will just refuse to loan you vastly more money than you currently have.
Item requests strike me as... somewhat more interesting. Wealthy characters could "order" a specific item, for a high price. For some classes this could be very useful, due to item rarity problems. OTOH it might also be massively overpowered. I'll have to check the limits of what can be requested, and for how much.

Hmm... It looks like the loan code is actually broken. You can't pay back loans, so you'll just get tailed by mercenaries ad infinitum. Oops.
