Losing turns somehow.

Losing turns somehow.
Just unlocked the Sher'tul training room, and after messing with the training dummies a while, I noticed I'm about 10% slower than I should be.
After 50 actions (movement, attacking, doesn't seem to matter), the training room's displayed turn count is at 55...but every action speed listed on my character sheet is 100%. I've downloaded the Clock addon, and it appears i'm using 1100 energy a turn.
The only thing in my character's possession that could slow me down at all is precise strikes, and when that's active I'm another 10% slower when attacking as expected (61 turns after 50 actions), so that's probably not it.
I'm seeing this slow even when not wearing any items and all sustains are down.
Is the turn display in Sher'tul not representative of actual global turns or something? Or am I missing something obvious that's slowing me down?
Character is here: http://te4.org/characters/182577/tome/1 ... 99617ec560 ? Nevermind that, he ded now.

Re: Losing turns somehow.
There are two things I can think of.
1) Your char page shows you don't have Ancestral Life active but did you have it when you fought the dummy? A lot of people put it on autouse with regen infusions. That could make you occasionally lose a turn.
2) It is possible that your rare weapon mistakenly shows the speed wrong. You could try equipping a non-salmon color weapon, possibly some other than a greatmaul and see if it does the same.
Both are a little far fetched but I can't really think of anything else since your char page looks to be OK.

To clarify:
I tried...
1) Attacking the dummy 50 times,
2) Attacking once (to trigger the turn counter) and standing still 49 turns
3) Attacking once then walking around 49 turns.
Each method results in 10% turn loss (55 turns used) for whatever reason. It does so even when I unequip all items and try each method again naked.
The Clock addon shows I'm using 1,100 energy per action instead of the typical 1,000 I suppose normal actions should be using, and turns are incrementing by 1.1 instead of 1.0.
What's even more strange, is that another character, a very low level skeleton archmage (http://te4.org/characters/182577/tome/6 ... 61bfaaa79b), is showing the same behavior according to Clock, and he's barely even got any equipment or abilities yet. A completely fresh skeleton archmage seems unaffected, though.
....I just was messing around a little more, and found that the berserker character starts moving at normal speed when there are no target dummies present.
The skeleton character saw the slow occur in Derth, but not in the trollmire. I'm really confused now.
On a similar note, I'm having a hard time understanding how the speed bonus from ancestral gift actually works. Watching Clock's energy read and turn counter, I cast Nature's Touch, get a regen effect from Ancestral Life, and use only half a turn/500 energy. Okay.
Berserker's Vitality talent triggers a regen-like effect called Recovery, which doesn't trigger Ancestral Life. Doesn't cause equilibrium to lower either. Okay, It's not a 'Regeneration' effect so I guess that makes sense...unfortunate, though.
Lastly, using a Healing Inscription also triggers a regen from AL, but uses a full turn. Odd. It lowers Equilibrium per turn as AL's tooltip states.

Re: Losing turns somehow.
Both Derth and Fortress are peaceful places. Your character is walking around peacefully minding his on businesses, whereas in the battlefield his pace is faster. :p..I just was messing around a little more, and found that the berserker character starts moving at normal speed when there are no target dummies present.

That's all i can think of.
As for Ancestral Life whenever I use I only put it on autouse whenever I reach 100% speed for it, making sure I don't lose any turns.
On watching the forums I've never seen people actively using it with any other than Regen infusions. Chances are it's the only thing that triggers it properly.
Heals won't trigger AL. Healing infusions take a turn just like you noticed. The regen you are seeing afterwards is granted by Fungal Growth skill.Lastly, using a Healing Inscription also triggers a regen from AL, but uses a full turn. Odd. It lowers Equilibrium per turn as AL's tooltip states.

Re: Losing turns somehow.
I thought Healing infusion was instant cast? It is for me.
Re: Losing turns somehow.
Yeah, I coulda sworn healing infusion was instant.
A little bit of a starters guide written by yours truly here.
Re: Losing turns somehow.
Yeah, my bad. Sorry.
Regen isn't instant. Healing being instant kinda weirdens the situation more as it takes a turn when Tryble uses one. The regen effect though is from Fungal Growth, not Ancestral Life.

Re: Losing turns somehow.
i think there used to be a bug with gauntlets affecting your weapon speed when armed?
it might have been a display only thing but still. check your hand wear.

Naw, it isn't taking a turn, but I was expecting that after using a Heal infusion, the resulting regen from fungal growth would trigger ancestral life the same way nature's touch direct heal does. Given how speed and turns are described here, I presumed using the instant heal infusion would grant ~500 energy to the character, but I can't observe any energy bonus or quicker turn post-cast.
In any case, I'm confused as heck. Maybe swapping the Heal infusion out for a regular Regeneration infusion would be the best way to actually make use of these Fungal bonuses?
As mentioned above, the 10% slow is there whether i'm attacking, idle, fully equipped, or naked.check your hand wear.

Re: Losing turns somehow.
Have you had any lua errors whatsoever pop up during the lifetime of the affected characters?

Sure haven't.
And in addition, I haven't installed any addons prior to noticing this., just on Vanilla ToME.

Could you post the affected save files? I'd like to have a look at it.
