Race: Wererat AND class: Pestificator

#1 Post by EKIX »

The Wererat was a race created by accident in a little town by the zigurat trying to reverse demonologist experimental arts in townies. The wererats are biped rats almost as tall as ogres but wererats are very slim in a creepy way, they are furry and look just like a giant starving rat.

Wererat have a unique racial talent branch called Hungry of Darkness, and their powers are dependent of constitution, dexterity and cunning. Wererats talents are about to steal life and mana to calm the hungry but the more they eat the more hungry they are, and they could die by inanition.

Pestificator works like an alchemist/summoner but the Golem is a PestQueen or could be called Darkmother, the pestqueen has talents to hatch swarm of rats, worm pest and those little summons with Motherlove talent than gives passive darkness shields for all friendly beings included the pestificator. Pestificator should transfer health and mana to the pestqueen so the pet could rise in power and extend the plague during each floor exploration.

What do you think?

The way you described the race and its talents seems as though the race greatly impacts gameplay. My suggestion would be make it so there's only one available class choice for Wererats, the Pestificator and build that class around its racials, much like the dwarves stonewarden.
A little bit of a starters guide written by yours truly here.

i am all in for some infestation, but i am not sure what i should think about "hatching rats"... what is this new abomination?

question, what would you do when your brood mother die?
i suggest an ability to revive her at the cost of 10 souls or so. reviving her should take some biomatter (a.k.a. corpses).
