death after death bug

#1 Post by Gravierra »

I think it IS a bug: my summoner with his turtle appeared in a space after death (the place where some spirit lets you rest and then revives you), but someone casted a lightning spell on that turtle few turns before. so this lightning spell somehow killed summoner again after some steps.

This sort of thing really isn't helpful. If we want people to post bugs on the forums - and not everyone bothers to - mocking them for dying or telling them that they could have done better has no place here. If you want to feel smugly superior, this isn't the place to do it.

Let me provide more context, I find it funny because the same thing happened to me. Amathon double killed me 2 times on one of my character. Whenever I went to revive, I would revive once and then end back up in the edilon plane and then revive and again and end up fighting again. Maybe I worded my comment a little too harshly, but I was trying to ask for more info about his circumstance of death. Was it hurricane that killed him? Some chain lightning spell that traveled across a plane of existence to murder him?

Ultimately, I'm not laughing at him, I'm laughing with him, except I don't think he's laughing so it's kind of awkward.

Surprisingly there was a lot of damage. I was playing the endless dungeon with yeek, they have really low hp. on the first stage my 4lvl summoner didn't stand a chance against those 20-30lvl bosses' spells. I experience hundreds of deaths while trying to sneak into those high-level boss rooms for their loot.
Actually I'm not sure if it was almost unavoidable, but my curiosity forced me to check :)

Ah, okay gotcha. So you opened a vault and BLAMO. Could have sworn that all debuffs are removed when you die, but maybe not on summons?

Do you remember if it was the hurricane effect that killed you or was it something else? The hurricane effect looks like a circle of lightning that goes off every turn and makes this CRZRK sound.

Yep, the description of hurricane is quite similar to what I saw.
I now recall that you get control of units other than you after main char dies, but not with summoned pets, so they don't die and maybe that's why they don't lose debuffs. Tortoise has a lot of hp, so it survived.

If that's the case (that summons don't lose debuffs when the PC dies), I'll ask stunt about it next time I see him on chat or maybe someone else will tell us.

Even if summons don't lose debuffs when they die, you're supposed to be invulnerable in the Eidolon Plane, so hurricane still shouldn't have hurt him while he was there. That's a bug, even if nothing else is.
