Solipsist gameplay

#1 Post by enso »

Just can't understand how to play with solipsist class. Yes, ok, I've read guides, I have a few damage spells... But I just can't catch the idea, the logic of the gameplay. Could you please explain me the core ideas?
You know like "if you are an archmage than go for the <<Three beams>> and you will be fine till 20-30 lvl"

Hp+ gear.
Crit mult and crit chance unless you're a sleep solip then go for mindpower.
Use thought forms for feedback and scouting.
A little bit of a starters guide written by yours truly here.

I'd suggest to get at least 3/1/5/1 in Solipsism, max two damage trees to 5/5/5/5 (I personally invest points in Psychic Assault and Discharge) and get a summon by investing something like 5/1/5/1 in Thought Forms (they'll still be a little underwhelming, but better than nothing).

For generics, you can put your spare points Feedback and buy the Combat Training category at Last Hope (So you can get thick skin!). Also, get Mindstar Mastery at Zigur. Other than that, just make sure to get Dream Walk. You can end up very very tanky if you go anti-magic. I've never really dealt a whole lot of damage with a Solipsist however (especially early on).

You will probably end up maxing Wil, Cun and Con even though you get reduced life from Constitution. Then I'd get Str to wear armors.

I'm not sure what the idea behind the class exactly is. Sleep/Nightmare Solipsists look quite special, but I've never tried one. To me a Solipsist just feels like a tanky mage that doesn't deal much damage, but I do focus on defense a lot. The Solipsist feels rather strong to me, but maybe a little tedious.
