Blood of Life+item of Unlife interaction

Can someone clarify, how they are inreracting with each other?
My char have item "of Unlife", then I got Blood of Life.
So, I unequip item, drunk BoL, then accidentally put item with Unlife back.
I lost that life, or what?
Or char just shouldn't wear it when he would be killed?

Please clarify.

The Blood of Life has two checks for undead: one when using the item, and another on death. As long as you aren't wearing that belt when you die, you'll have the option to resurrect.
