Return from death in Temporal rift with Blood of Life?
If you die in the Rift in Adventure mode with lives left, will the Eidolon offer to return you if you drank the Blood of Life? Or is that mode of return also off the table?
Re: Return from death in Temporal rift with Blood of Life?
Blood of life doesn't involve the Eidolon at all.
Re: Return from death in Temporal rift with Blood of Life?
blood is only used if you are out of eidolons, or otherwise cannot access them.

I thought it added an option in the death dialog. Doesn't that occur, in Adventure mode, in the Eidolon Plane? That's where you go when you die, and then you have a choice to make. I thought Blood of Life added to those choices.Danton wrote:Blood of life doesn't involve the Eidolon at all.

OK. So, if I cannot access them because I died in the Temporal rift, can blood be used to get me back in that situation? That was the question, really.Radon26 wrote:blood is only used if you are out of eidolons, or otherwise cannot access them.

Eidolon still functions when you are in the Temporal Rift, you just can't get a free port out.
Blood of Life still works in the Temporal Rift.
Blood of Life still works in the Temporal Rift.

OK, thanks. I've done all eight levels of Dreadfell, and I'm still only a level 23 Dwarf Berserker, so I don't think I'm ready for the Master. Temporal Rift is one of the few places I haven't been yet, and I might need the xp. But if it's game over when I die, I'm not going there (in Adventure mode, that is).HousePet wrote:Eidolon still functions when you are in the Temporal Rift, you just can't get a free port out.

Is it game over when you die in the Rift? As I recall, you can still use the Eidolon Plane, you just can't choose the "I fear I won't survive anyway" option, so if you get stuck at a fight you can't win (the Twins, in my case), you're going to keep getting killed until you're out of lives. In that situation, having the Blood of Life might not help much.

The death dialogue to which it adds an option is the one you get when you die after using up all your lives (the one with the restart same/new char, exit to main menu, and chardump options).berenbelagund wrote:I thought it added an option in the death dialog. OK, so the idea is that if I'm in Adventure mode, I have multiple lives, I've drunk the Blood of Life, and then I die in the Temporal Rift, then - since one doesn't have the option to use stored lives to come back from the Rift - it will immediately give me the option to resurrect on the basis of the Blood of Life?Danton wrote:The death dialogue to which it adds an option is the one you get when you die after using up all your lives (the one with the restart same/new char, exit to main menu, and chardump options).berenbelagund wrote:I thought it added an option in the death dialog. The wiki says: "In addition, if you die in the rift on Adventure mode with lives left, the Eidolon will not give you the option to return to the World Map." That is consistent with being able to use the Blood of Life to get back in that situation. Is this correct?
Sorry if I seem dense. I feel like I haven't properly processed the replies I've already been given, and I'm frustrated about that!

But that seems to conflict with the wiki says: "In addition, if you die in the rift on Adventure mode with lives left, the Eidolon will not give you the option to return to the World Map."DuckAndCower wrote:Is it game over when you die in the Rift? You say that you can be sent back with the cost of a life, whereas the wiki says you won't have that option, even in Adventure mode. Who is right? I don't savescum, so the answer matters to me.

How about just listen to me and ignore everyone else?

OK. You have quite a few more posts than everyone else.HousePet wrote:How about just listen to me and ignore everyone else?

Of course, the whole point of this thread was to level up before fighting the Master, but I went ahead and did it anyway, and defeated him pretty handily. Funny, though: last time I seemed to easily overcome the ambush with my Shalore Summoner, but I couldn't do it this time.

- If you have lives left, you go to the Eidolon. If you died in the rift, the option to teleport out is disabled.
- If you do not have lives left, you get the "You died!" screen, which has an option to resurrect you immediately in the place you just died. The blood does not provide other options, regardless of where you died.

Ah, OK. Dying in the rift means you won't teleport out, but you do have the option to resurrect locally because of the blood. Thanks!Danton wrote:You die in adventure mode after drinking the blood:This is just a different phrasing of what HousePet said.
