Generalist Class Pack

#1 Post by Planetus »

Welcome all to the unveiling of my very first addon for ToME. Hopefully only one of many if I can decently learn lua. Generalists are a kind of hybrid between Adventurers and normal classes. They specialize in one meta-class (mage/celestial/defiler/etc) only, but automatically gain every talent tree available to any class in that meta-class.

There are rules, though. If every class in the meta-class has the talent tree in any form, the generalist get's that talent tree at the highest mastery level (usually 1.3). If most get it, it'll be at 1.2. If only one get's it unlocked, but someone else get's it locked, it'll be at 1.1. If only one person get's it unlocked, it'll be at 1.0. And, lastly, if people only get that talent tree locked, it'll come in locked at 1.0 (even for lvl 10+ talent trees).

Stats are an average of all the classes, as is life rating. Equipment is the combination of all classes, so you should have all starter options for equipment from the beginning, all in your transmogrification chest.

Please leave any comments or suggestions. I think this is pretty simple, but I'd love ideas for improvements.

Enjoy!

Sweet. This will be a lot of fun.

One question, though-does this also work with Addon class trees?
I'm not crying. I'm offering a sacrifice to DarkGod in hopes he'll show favor to me.

It hasn't worked yet.

At the moment, this addon only applies to core-game class trees, not even official addon (stone warden, demonologist, doombringer) class trees. I may change that in the future (though I'll try to still limit stone warden trees to dwarves).

It shouldn't get in the way of other class addons, though... I think.

does this work with addons that alter base-classes? (I have one that makes significant changes to how necromancers work)

If it changes individual talents or talent trees that are already in a class, I think it should work. Basically this addon just makes a new class for each meta-class and gives them all the talent trees in that meta-class at various mastery levels, so any changes that impact those talent trees should carry over.

Chronomancer generalist does not get the new talents in 1.3. Any chance for a fix?
