[1.2.5] Headless horror eye spamming mind disruption

#1 Post by Aesthete »

When I opened the exploratory farportal room in the sher'tul fortress there was a headless horror boss and one of his eyes had a mind disruption talent it was using to confuse and brainlock my character every turn. On examining it the talent had a cooldown of either -80 or -90 turns (I forget which), which presumably is not intended.

This resulted in pretty much all talents eventually going on cooldown on top of the confusion, which was rather bad when combined with the boss and his abilities.

I ran into another regular headless horror and checked some of the other types of eyes, and some of them have spells with cooldowns in the -90s as well. The physical eye and I believe the ice eye both did, however the blight eye's diseasing spell had a cooldown of 2.

These are actually working as intended.

Headless Horrors are the Tome equivalent of Beholders and yes, they're very very dangerous.

Mental save can help with the brainlocking. If you're character is still alive I'd suggest coming back when you have better mental saves and possibly some confusion resist.

The 2 cooldown reduction on VD is to bring it down to 1 cooldown, since it's instant. So it can't spam it forever on it's turn.

*edit* But I'll consider rewriting them a bit for 1.4.
