[ongoing] Possible to leave rod of recall in Abashed Expanse

If the rod of recall is not picked up from the boss upon death and the zone is exited with Teleport: Angolwen the rod cannot be reacquired.

hmm undeda starter dungeon, also cannot be re entered. If the bone giant drops it too, it would be the same problem.

Seems like the best way to solve this for any possible cases would be to readd the Rod of Recall to the loot table if it decays, so you would get it from the next boss you kill.

Yeah, I agree. Also, yeah, it's definitely possible in the undead start but less likely. The way it usually happens in the Archmage start is that you're engaging at range and the islands can blink around. It's much more likely to somehow miss things with the way it works. Regardless, it's important enough that there should be a solution in place to prevent this from happening in any start that you can't return to.

"Surely nobody would do that!" is the lead-in to many many bugs. :lol:

Besides, the fact that Abashed Expanse shifts around so much, and the possibility that someone might bail from the undead dungeon escaping a bad encounter with a rare... these things do happen.

if you are surrounded by too many enemies, while right next to the exit, you would probably have to leave.
on the archmage quest, you may kill the boss while he is on another platform, that teleports next turn.
if the 2 happen at the same time, its a problem, as said in previous posts.

in undead dungeon, everything is melee, to continue fighting him while surrounded, that's a suicide.
so while it is theoretically possible, i do not think the dungeon can actually force you to leave it behind.

You can't flee the Abashed Expanse when there are enemies nearby, so those two things can't happen at the same time.

i forgot. there is no portal back, you have to use skill.

do fortress shadow stop it to? training dummies stop it too!?

Dummies are coded as hostile, meaning among other things you can't rest in front of them. (I guess you get weirded out by their blank, wooden stares?) So, yeah, you probably wouldn't be able to use Teleport: Anglowen or Teleport: Point Zero in front of them, since they can...see you...somehow. If you mean the Butler, I don't know. You can't teleport in front of Townspeople, I don't think, so the code would probably catch it the same way.
