Demonologist can't attach demons other than the weapon

So I have leveled up bind demon ability to level 2, which allows me to bind demon to first ring. (I did get the slot).
However, whenever I choose to attach a demon, it simply switches the demon of my weapon instead of adding the demon to the ring. Is there a special key binding/command that I should use to bind demon to items other than weapon or is this a bug?

I am so frustrated that I can't bind my awesome demons to my ring!

when you decided to attach, have you tried to drag and drop directly to the slot?
how exactly did you try to do it?

Demons only work for a specific slot--is the demon you were trying to attach a "mainhand" demon or a "finger" demon?

Okay, so if you had a finger demon auto attach to your weapon, that's pretty weird. In theory, using right-click>attach should be smart about which slot replaces (I don't remember off the top of my head what it does when you have two appropriate slots, e.g. both ring slots filled and trying to attach a finger demon--I think a GUI pops up?). Aside from that, you can always drag a seed into the augment slot (which has the advantage of going to exactly the right ring slot).
