Unable to connect in the standalone clients + another issue

Hi,
My first issue is:
I've had my steam account and my online profile not associated for quite a while and never had any issue with both but earlier today I decided to link them. To access my profile I had to change my password but everything went fine and the profile recognized that I already own the game on steam and the dlc.

I decided then to play a bit of the beta but when I booted it up and tried to log on I was unable to, the game just tells me "Check your login and password or try again in in a few moments". I tried waiting a bit but it's still going on.

Also when I login through steam I have to click the "Login with Steam" button every time I boot the game.




The second issue seems to be more Steam focused (possibly has to do with steam cloud).

In the last couple days (before connecting the steam account and the online profile), sometimes going back to main menu from a game, on the menu I'd find "Login through steam" as if the connection was lost but clicking the button wouldn't help and the character I was playing would be flinged back a lot in progression when i reloaded it.
No big issue by itself, it just means I have to redo a bit of the progress later on because now the connection doesn't work.
Unfortunately that's no the case because after that saving didn't work anymore even much later, and not only for that character, but for all characters I had.
They'd just end up going back to the same point I started from again each time I quit and reloaded.
The only way I've found to solve the issue is to delete the first character it happened to (the one I was playing with while the connection with the steam cloud was cut, I assume), basically meaning that if it happens to a character I have invested some time with, I just have to delete it anyway if I want to keep playing any character at all.
It has only happened a couple times, still pretty annoying.
