When I play as an archmage, I use spells for pretty much all attacks, I never get into melee fights, even if the opponent is next to me. Do stats of staves like base power, and the "uses stat" numbers matter to me at all? On spells like the beams, it just says "scales with your spell power". How do items contribute to this spell power? Only through "spellpower: +x"?
In other words, if I have a staff that says "uses stat: 130% mag", then according to this calculation, it sounds amazing. But when do I actually notice this?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Archmage: what stats of staffs matter?
Spellpower, spellcrit, +damage for the element you're using. Those are the big three.
Use Stat 130% of magic is if you actually melee with it. Which you won't on an archmage but some classes do such as alchemists (or anyone just trying to play with a weird build).
