Wha~
Since when did functions like activate pass the effect definition?
I suppose I'm going to have to go and remove an awful lot of lines of code now. Harumph.

Re: New race up for testing in git: Ogres
My only question is regarding Ogric Wrath and Writ Large being spells. I've read the lore and understand they are magically altered beings, but this basically rules these characters out for using Antimagic. Is that intended?

With that artwork, you should start on online - service for ogres rexo !!!!

Hehe, maybe I should...
And thanx! So as there appear to be no major complaints, I'll start to properly playerdoll them.

The one with the red Rune writing looks cool when it's huge, but the runes are basically invisible when it's shrunk down at all.
So I'd suggest some MUCH bigger runes: like one on the pectoral, one on a shoulder, one on a leg, etc. Maybe even one on the forehead, or make them bald and put one right on the top of the head.

It has been considered, thanks for pointing out.
Also, I prefer them with hair, but I can also try the bold/runed look, or even better - do them both
Cheers!

Re: New race up for testing in git: Ogres
Although I like the idea behind the inscriptions improving tree it really plays down on the most curios to me aspect of the Ogre, namely them being the only Big sized PC. Also Ogrish Wrath seems too situational to be truly useful thus far.
An idea I had for killing two birds with one stone is to give them a percentage accuracy penalty but allow them to wield two handed weapons with one hand and to wield normal weapons in the offhand, they are listed as Giants after all. The penalty will increase depending on the liberty taken with the wielded weapon\s. Say the basic penalty is 15 percent accuracy. It remains unchanged if the regular weapon wielding restrictions are met, but for wielding a normal weapon in the offhand it is further increased by 5 percent, if wielding a two-hander and a shield - again 5 percent. So of you dual-wield a two-hander and a normal you get a total of -25 percent accuracy. I think this is gonna add a cool new dimension to the class without switching it's focus. Any thoughts?
Rationale being they're sufficiently bigger than most things they fight, making them harder to hit, and clumsy, but big enough to handle a two-hander with one hand. This should hold true for all big and above sized NPC, me thinks. Reaver Ogres could allow for dual-wielding a two-hander in the offhand, for a total of -30 percent accuracy. Though even at -15 that could be pretty harsh.
Just some thoughts.
Anyway, thanks darkgod and everyone else involved in development, for continuing on doing what you're doing, I seriously feel I owe you guys.

Re: New race up for testing in git: Ogres
Ogric Wrath is terribad as written.
You have to guess which 5 (out of 44) turns will involve missing, then you have to try to NOT CRIT in order to keep your Stun resist.
If you're trying to use spells, you only benefit when you fail to damage a target -- so you want a spammable attack which will NOT break the enemy's shield for at least 5 turns.
You're effectively adding buff-farming to the game. Good work, everyone loves farming.
Fix suggestions:
Ogric Wrath (passive) - Once per turn when you miss or have your damage reduced or your effect resisted, you have a 30-70% chance to gain a stack of Ogric Wrath. Each stack gives you +Accuracy and +crit damage%. Every time you crit, it consumes one stack; otherwise the stacks last for 7 turns.
% chance to gain a stack increases with talent level.
Ogric Fury (passive, CD 10) - Any time you are stunned, confused, or (a magic status), you gain the Ogric Fury buff, which gives you +50% resistance to stun, confusion, and (a magic status) for 3-10 turns.
Duration increases with talent level.
Ogric Fury could be merged with another talent, since the existing Ogre talents are on the weak side.

I fail to see how you can farm it since charges fall off ..

Re: New race up for testing in git: Ogres
Any chance of fixing the repository archive link for those of us who are git-challenged, DarkGod?

Re: New race up for testing in git: Ogres
Not at all; it's not a bug: it's a deliberate action on my part to remove the feature.
It incurs a zipping action of hundreds of MB each time the link is clicked and I do not want that for my server

Re: New race up for testing in git: Ogres
Some typos and suggestions regarding the talent descriptions:
Ogric Wrath - "You loose a charge" - "You lose a charge"
Grisly Constitution - "pernalty" should be "penalty." Also, I keep wanting to read "An ogre's body is used to..." as "[Something] uses an ogre's body to...", which obviously doesn't make sense. Perhaps reword as "An ogre's body is acclimated to..."
Writ Large - Why range 4? Also, I had to read "Your command over inscriptions is so good that you can use one more" a couple of times before I understood it. Maybe I was just too tired when I read it, but it would be clearer if it read, "Your command over inscriptions is so good that you gain another inscription slot."

Re: New race up for testing in git: Ogres
While wielding a two-handed weapon in your main hand and another weapon in your off hand with Grisly Constitution, the damage you deal won't qualify you for the Windblade prodigy, even though you're dual-wielding. It will instead qualify you for Massive Blow. It feels like the right behavior is to have the damage count for both, since, after all, you're dishing out massive blows while wielding two weapons.
Re: New race up for testing in git: Ogres
2 problems:
a) Ogre Reaver do not start with 2 weapons (haven't tested other classes, but might be an issue with them as well)
b) It's unclear if using a two hander in mainhand reduces chance to hit by 20%, so extra accuracy is needed for a sure hit, or if there is a flat 20% per hit to miss due to the talent.
