My in-game chat hadn't been working since the 1.2.4 update, and at the time I assumed chat had temporarily been disabled due to server load. I realize now that the update set all my Chat Channels options to false, which had been set to true previously. I'm playing on PC with Steam.
Although I corrected the settings on my end, there may be players affected by this change that don't know what happened or how to fix it for themselves. You may want to default the settings to true in the next patch and let players who don't want to be in chat manually disable it.
