Anti-magic shield… can someone explain?

I had the same feelings about the wording of Anti-magic shield as Delmuir and grayswandir here. The damage reduction being per hit/element was not clear from the description, and only became apparent after using it. The "each 30 damage a check is made" part is poorly worded in my opinion because it's wasn't clear whether it's only talking about the damage absorbed or the entire damage inflicted.
