Character suddenly unloadable

Hi,

I recently exited the game and when I tried to continue, the character wasn't in the list of loadable characters.
My character was on the overland map, far away from any hostile parties and quite healthy.

I can still find the save-dir in .../tome/save but when I look into desc.lua (file with the latest datestamp I see "loadable = false".
Strangely the file also gives (in description) an level quite a bit lower than the one I had at the end.

It's not that this character is a big loss (only level 17, normal) but I#s hate to happen that to some level 47 nightmare character (when I finally have one) .
