When wearing an item that let's you fall into negative healthpoints (e.g. -40) you will see the health when you use heroism even when under the -40 treshhold.
Heroism indicates, that you can't see your health when below 0.
I am sure this is true for similiar talents too (blurried mortality, last stand).

Well, Ring of the Dead and other die_at items do NOT specify that you cannot see your health... with Heroism, it's a bug.

Well thats the bug. The items do not specify it but the talents do. It's not a bug, it's just the items, together with giving you the ability to die at lower than zero, also grant you the ability to see your health below zero.
