Stoneheart Class[Looking for potential coders!]
http://te4.org/games/addons/tome/stoneheart
"Do you want to engage in jolly cooperation, but don't want to deal with all that silly bomb-throwing nonsense? Well, Stonehearts are for you! Magical warriors who fight with the aid of a Golem ally, Stonehearts are a mix of Alchemist, and are entirely Unmuderable(tm)!"
Disclaimer: Stonehearts are not unkillable. You will probably die. A lot. Possibly more then other classes.
Just a quick class I threw together. They're probably pretty bad(No real mobility), but I just wanted to do something simple to restore what little faith I have in my coding ability. If anyone has suggestions for more....fitting trees, I'll gladly make changes. Originally had an idea for an Arcane Combat that could proc alchemist bombs but that...I have no clue how to even code that, lol.

Re: Stoneheart Class
Only managed to get through the tier 1 dungeons so far so this isn't exactly the best analysis of the class but anyway...
They seem pretty durable between heavy armor + shield and aegis
Lack of mobility is probably gonna be the primary cause of death later
Damage output is potentially high? if you focus on it (I have 0 experience with arcane blades so I don't know what they're capable of...)
Regardless this has been an enjoyable run so far, good work on the addon!

Re: Stoneheart Class
Was thinking about giving them a mobility skill, just haven't been able to decide which one, since they have so many trees as it is. :cjilladilla wrote:Only managed to get through the tier 1 dungeons so far so this isn't exactly the best analysis of the class but anyway...

As for the damage, dunno. I was expecting it to be a bit on the low side. Good to hear it's not that bad, though.

I actually don't know about that, I just know that arcane blades are rated as one of the best damage dealers stonehearts seem to have the same tools as them (just forced into the sword & board weapon set though). Again, I have absolutely zero experience with arcane blades so I only figured the damage was good if you focused on it (I didn't).

Re: Stoneheart Class
I really like the class and it was fun playing it. It is the version of alchemist i have always wanted to play one that uses the golem as more than a meat shield until you can kill them with the bombs.
Though i feel that the arcane blade trees are are tacked on and don't really fit with the class well.
I would love to see a tree that specializes in team up attacks with the golem. For example the golem could throw you at space dealing weapon damage and stunning the target and everyone you pass through. it would also help with mobility as you could be thrown away from a nasty combat.
I also wouldn't mind a tree that gives the golem more options, for example it gives you a skill and gives a complementary skill to the golem. So you could get a skill that makes you set up a perfect defense and up damage mitigation, the golem would get a passive that any time someone attacks while you are defending they get a free attack if they are in melee range. something the further shows that you work as a team.
Those are my two cent hope it helps

Re: Stoneheart Class
The Arcane Blade stuff is mostly there for the Stone tree. I figured proccing Earthen Missiles on stuff like Shield Pummel would be interesting, as well as relatively thematic(Since golems are typically, well...earthy.Darkgobbo wrote:I really like the class and it was fun playing it. A teamup tree would be amazing and fit the theme of jolly co-opperaton, I'm just awful at coding(see: Geists. I tried to add a few new trees and broke it beyond my ability to fix. :/). Playerball Special sounds like an amazing skill, though. :3
I'l agree the Arcane Blade stuff seems a little out of place, just not sure what would fit better. I now know I can use Stone Warden stuff(It'll just require the addon for others), so maybe some catagories from them?

Re: Stoneheart Class
I may or may not have planned out a tree based on teamwork with your golem. Also messing with the idea of a talent tree that gives the golem itself new talents, to fit it's role as the damage dealer of the pair(some Berserker trees, maybe?)
Only problem is I'm entirely awful at coding. My previous work is a broken mess, and that was easy stuff. xP

Re: Stoneheart Class
Well at least you can code i have been having the hardest time learning lua
but if you need any ideas for the trees i can totally help with that.

My last 'simple' project ended horribly(Endless Lua errors, skills not working, etc), so I'd definitely try to get a coder if Stonehearts were to get new trees.
That said, here's one of the new trees!
Cooperation
(Not sure what stat it'd use, honestly)
Friend Toss
-Your golem throws you to the target space. This knocks aside enemies hit, stunning them, and does damage in radius 1 from where you land.
Teamwork
Passive
-Any enemy that attacks the Golem or Stoneheart gets the Teamwork debuff, causing the one not hit to do extra damage to the target on the next hit(So, if someone attacks the Stoneheart, the Golem hits that target harder).
Resonant Strike
-Block, charging your shield with magic. On it's turn, the Golem will strike your shield(Rushing to you if not in melee range). This releases an explosive resonance that does damage around the Stoneheart, and inflicts Counterstrike on enemies hit(assuming the Golem can benefit from it.)
Undecided last skill.
Other trees that I was tinkering with
Gem Combat(Arcane combat, but with alchemy gems! Not entirely sure how it'd work, and it'd be a nightmare to code, though. They need a damage tree to replace the Arcane Blade stuff, tanks or no. :3 )
Golem Augmentation(Gives your Golem various new skill trees! Thinking Berserkery stuff, since they're the fighter of the pair. Whatcha guys think?)

Re: Stoneheart Class[Looking for potential coders!]
Earthen Combat
Magic
Earthen Weapon
Sustain
-Gain +X% physical damage and physical resistance as you cover your armaments in stone. Attacks with your weapon and shield have a chance of dislodging some of the stone, doing X physical damage to the target(Basically a poor man's earthen missiles). At talent level 5, your Golem gains the effects as well.
Crystalline Strike
-Turn your weapon into pure crystal for a brief moment, and thrust it forward, destroying shields and doing X% of the shield's strength in damage.
Unamed Skill
-Your shield gains sharp spikes of stone, causing shield bashes to do X extra damage as bleeding. Can be activated to fire out the spike in a cone. Works on a charge system similar to bone shield and the like(Regain one spike each turn, with...let's say 6 required for maximum benefit/firing)
Undecided last skill

Re: Stoneheart Class[Looking for potential coders!]
What if the last skill gave you Physical resist and applied a percent of your physical resist to all resists.
Then gave your golem Physical damage boost and Physical damage pen.
Also you could make it a sustain that switched who got what so that you can decide who is more tanky and who is the damage dealer

Re: Stoneheart Class[Looking for potential coders!]
Well, the ever-awesome Grayswandir has a bit of code that might make Gem Combat work! He figured out how to make arcane combat work for other spells. So, time to start musing on a Gem combat tree!
Gem Combat
Chance to proc a gem on melee hit, doing damage of that gem's element
Starts at hitting a single target, gains some radius with levels.
Higher tier gems give a multiplicative damage bonus(0/5/10/15/20%?)
(There's an addon that has a table for gem elements, so gonna see if I can track down the owner and ask if I can use it.)
Jeweled Shield
Smash a gem over your shield, the dust empowering your shield for X turns.
Gain +X% elemental resist for X turns.
Effect scales up with gem tier, but duration also goes down with higher tier
