A wyrmic stealth class and/or Psiblade rogue class

#1 Post by Eyro »

Gonna try to make an add on out of this for my own use, but thought I'd share it here in case it might springboard an idea for a wilder stealth class.

So imagine if you will, Sand Drake, Venom Drake, Stealth and Mindstar Mastery.

The utility in Sand Drake and Venom Drake, to me, fits a stealth class very well. Ability to move through walls as well as disarm opponents, Sand breath and Quake when caught out, as well as that stealth crit Swallow (When I imagine that it looks hilarious) seems like it's be an extremely fun combination.

Would keeping the scaling on the breaths strength be a smart idea for balancing or would the tools already given to them not be enough?

Would this class need it's own tree to truly feel unique, and if so, would it be better to just create a brand new wilder stealth class than a Wyrmic variation?

Is having a stealth class with psiblades a good idea?

Isn't it really easy to test with adventurer class? At least combo Sand Drake/Venom Drake/Stealth/Mindstar Mastery.

By the way, i just remembered: one of the addons of HousePet, "Verdant Class Pack", has class Werebeast. That class can be played like Psiblade Rogue too. You may take a look ;)

Been trying an adventurer test subject, and I forgot to give him the meditation tree.

However, I have realized that potentially having a rough wilder rely on causing damage to regain equilibrium is a potentially neat mechanic. I started with Swallow, and as long as I don't spam abilities, it's actually a pretty good balancing tool to give him more stuff without worrying about making an OP class.

That doesn't work very well with boss fights though.

Yeah. I've realized that it doesn't mesh too well together because you either have to spend cat points on stuff that doesn't make much sense for a stealth character (the meditation tree) and sacrifice some damage, or get damage stuff, half the stuff that fits thematically (like acidic blades from the oozemancer) only lets you put points in it til level 10 anyway, and either way your damage severely lacks early game. Class would be better off with a unique tree, something that would allow it to regain equilibrium through damage, and some things to do with stealth.
