And hot on the proverbial heels of that, pushing out v9k, with a new "Mark as Seen" dialog for those talent sources that you know how to get but the addon doesn't know you know.

The extra category point from the Wyrm Bile doesn't appear as an option for me.

I have completed the Arena quest, but the option to add two points still appears in the list. That's not really an issue, but I wasn't sure if it was intended (or a concession to convoluted testing).

Yeah, I usually add point sources as I find them to avoid spoiling myself too much, and I haven't gotten that far yet. [sound F/X: source diving] ...urk, really no good place to hang a hook on in there. I'm gonna have to think about how to implement this. We Apologize for the Inconvenience.™

? Does that character have the Arena achievement? That's what the planner keys on to detect if you've received the points.

Here's a char that has the Arena acheivement, but the point planner isn't recognizing that the char has it, and still allows me to check/uncheck that option.

Could it be that it's a Roguelike achievement?

[sound F/X: source diving] Looks like it; achievements in Roguelike mode and/or various difficulty levels are recorded with different IDs, which we'll need to check for. This should be fixed in v9l, just pushed out. This version also includes a Spectacularly Dodgy Hack™ to support Wyrm Bile. As with some other talent sources, the planner normally won't show you Wyrm Bile until you've actually used it in a game with the addon loaded; if you want to short-circuit this, the "Mark as Seen" activation code for Wyrm Bile is "wyrm_bile".

I lost track of my posting...

Thanks for the update. I'll give it a try with the code. I've used the Worm Bile many times, however.

Doesn't matter; if you haven't used it with this most recent version, it won't know you've seen the Wyrm Bile source unless you tell it with the "mark-as-seen" code.

Urk... I've had very little luck publishing addons to Steam. I'll try again... [sound F/X: Steam uploading] gah! dammit! It screwed up again!

[For lack of a better place to put this, I'm going to stick this here, so I can eventually link back to it from the planner's Steam Workshop page, and possibly from other places as the need arises.]

FAQ: The planner isn't letting me include a talent point source that I know about.

The Talent Point Planner makes an effort to show you only talent point sources that it can confirm you've seen with at least one character, in order to avoid spoilers. Some sources are associated with achievements or unlocks that can provide that conformation; for other sources, the addon has to keep its own notes, and can only know that you've seen the source if you've obtained it with a character that's using the addon.

If you've just started using the addon, then (directly or via ZOmnibus), there may well be some talent point sources that you've seen but that the addon doesn't know you've seen. You can tell the addon that you've seen these sources with the "Mark as Seen" button on the main dialog. This will bring up a sub-dialog, where you can enter an "activation code" for the source to tell the addon that you've seen it.

Supported activation codes are listed below. If you've seen the associated talent point sources, it should be obvious which codes correspond to which sources. If you use these codes to expose sources you haven't seen, you'll probably end up building your point plan around talent points that you don't know how to get; that's all on you.

Code: Select all

cursed_aura
wyrm_bile
corrupted_heart
anti_wyrm_bile
martial_potion
last_hope_weapon_store

zigur_mindstar_basic

escort_repented_thief_cunning_survival
escort_temporal_explorer_chronomancy_chronomancy
escort_temporal_explorer_psionic_dreaming
The Embers of Rage DLC adds a few more talent sources with activation codes:

Code: Select all

steamtech_cave
steamphys_kruk
steamchem_kruk
Some additional activation codes for talent sources added by the Arcanum Class Pack addon (possibly incomplete):

Code: Select all

arcanum_spell_energy_alchemy_basic
arcanum_spell_restoration_basic
arcanum_spell_staff_combat_basic
arcanum_spell_staff_magic_basic
arcanum_spell_stone_alchemy_basic
arcanum_technique_staff_combat_basic
If none of the codes listed above appear to correspond to the talent point source you're interested in, it may be a source that the addon doesn't yet recognize. This thread is probably the best place to ask about that.

Pushing out v9m with a small bugfix: due to a an internal tag mismatch, the "Mark as Seen" activation code for one of the talent sources wasn't being handled properly. We Apologize for the Inconvenience.™

Pushing out v9n with a bugfix to keybinding installation that may affect you if you use the Precognition talent.

Just want to note that the default keybind for this on Colemak keyboard layout is actually Alt+Shift+d, though the keybindings dialog claims otherwise. As far as I can tell, this is because SDL completely ignores keyboard layout information and consequently acts like the fifth key in the second row is G, even though in Colemak, it's D. (similar equations apply to every alphabetic key that differs from QWERTY layout)

Because of this, I had never gotten this addon to work until just now; I was pressing Alt+Shift+g.

EDIT: Actually, this appears to apply only to certain addons. Most but not all ToME's core keybindings work correctly, for example i -can- press ctrl+t to show calendar info, as indicated.

I've made a bug report here about it.

Just pushed out v9o to fix a conflict with the Marson's UI Modifications addon. See, that addon overloads the LevelupDialog, and the point planner superloads it, and apparently I was inadvertently loading said dialog way too early, while the engine was in the middle of sorting it all out. Preliminary tests appear to indicate that the two addons still function normally together. ZOmnibus, as it turns out, was accidentally doing the right thing there already, so no change needed there (unless there are problems I haven't heard about?).

ALERT! the talent point planner "update" for version 1.3 is bugged, and produces an error message upon attempting to Create Plan on a new char. older chars moved into the new version work just fine.

the error message mentions "attempt to index field 'pointplanner' (a nil value)" as the reason.

thought you should know!
