Anti magic

#1 Post by Tom »

Hi!

I dusted off my old trustworthy hobbit rogue.
In the middle game he ran into pesky mages who made life so hard I decided to make a new challenge.
Anti magic!

So I went to the village and accepted the task.
No problems to fulfil and enter the what I thought perfect skill tree for my rogue.
Perfect until I saw WILLPOWER. :(

Now this was a terrible setback.
I assume antimagic is for classes using WILLPOWER as a main stat and not for rogues. *grumble*

Will secondary can work or something that can do an even three stat split. I've heard it works for bullwarks for example (str/wil or str/dex/wil).

Unfortunately will is for lengthening resource bars outside of actual will focused classes. As I understand it rogues don't stress their stamina bar and therefore don't benefit from will.

A rogue might be able to stop building dex and go to mindstars since they already build cunning. I'm not sure how stealth scales if you don't keep building dex.

That makes me wonder if a mindstar marauder would be any good. I'm not generally good with offensively biased classes.

Stealth doesn't have anything to do with dexterity. It's all based on cunning.

Antimagic mindstar rogues are pretty decent - you can pretty much ignore dexterity, except for talent requirements. You build pure willpower and cunning, getting your mindpower up and giving you good stealth. Most of the rogue skills that state they scale with dexterity actually scale with accuracy - which is willpower when you're using mindstars.

Mindstar marauder isn't quite as nice because they still need strength for some stuff. I've never tried it.
Addons: Arcane Blade Tweaks, Fallen Race, Monk Class, Weapons Pack
Currently working on Elementals. It's a big project, so any help would be appreciated. :)

It's been a while, but back in beta 30 something Mindstar Rogues were all the rage. They did some insane damages.

Depends on how the Rogue is built. I imagine that Rogue that gets Momentum and Willful Combat will find Willpower somewhat helpful.
Its amazing what the mind can come up with, but it shows talent to make something of it. - Davion Fuxa

There are some great antimagic artifacts that work for rogues.
The willpower requirements aren't high, so you can get some decent stuff with lowish willpower too.
