That is, rather than increasing your multiplier, you can spend n more points (I'd think 5) on each talent in it.
Broken for some talents, certainly, but maybe workable with infinite scaling? At least it strikes me as an interesting option.

One of my catpoint proposals was to have the cat point boost effectively give you +1 point in each talent in that tree. That pays off nicely early, and gives the same benefit as +0.20 mastery at 5/5 talent points.
Raising the ceiling would be a neat combo with that: raise the ceiling by 2 per catpoint, stacking with the level-based ceiling increases that i500 gave us.
That way you'd get an immediate effect (+1 effective point per talent in the whole tree), and a strategic effect (higher ceiling).

Yeah, agreed. It's a good combo. 
I like your idea, but it's a bit underpowered and too back-loaded. My idea is also underpowered, and too front-loaded.
