[1.2.2] Rune of the Rift goes to inventory, not trans chest

Unlike (all?) other items, the rune of the rift goes immediately to your inventory, instead of to the transmogrification chest.
This is different than everything else and I don't see any obvious lore related reason for it to function differently (I suppose"messing with spacetime can have unforseen consequences"?)

I always figured it was intentional because that way you won't accidentally Transmog it, and its weight is small enough that it doesn't matter.

It is not different from anything else. Gems, the gift from Melinda's father, alchemist potions, items necessary to win the game and maybe few other items that I can't think of right now do this too.

The lumberjacks always stuff a pickaxe right in your backpack without even asking. Is it a hazing ritual?

Quest rewards are given to you. Everything else is Hoovered off the dungeon floor.
