The game fails to start if the built-in sound card is off.

Hi guys.
My problem is:
I bought the game on Steam, and it began to crash at the startup loading screen, the percentage was always different. But I couldn't get to the main menu, because the game always crashed at the loading screen.
So, I did lots of research, and I actually found out that the problem was in OpenAL.dll library. I did a few experiments, and it turned out that the game doesn't want to start because I use a Creative X-FI sound card, and my build-in sound card is disabled. Every time I turn my built-in sound card on, the game starts successfully. However, as you can imagine, the sound only appears when the speakers or headphones are used with the built-in sound card. When I plug them in to the Creative sound card, there is no sound. The possible options are: to switch OpenAL to use the Creative sound card (and I don't know how to do that), or switch over to the built-in sound card every time I play ToME. As you can understand, the second option is not an option at all. So, any help regarding this issue would be very much appreciated.
