Addons menu question
There are three options for an addon in the in-game menu. Auto: Enabled, Manual: Enabled, and Manual: Disabled. I would assume that setting it to manual keeps the steam workshop from automatically replacing it? Or is that not the case and I shouldn't use the workshop because they'll always automatically update and potentially break some characters?
Re: Addons menu question
Auto turns the addon on or off depending on the version numbers of the addons compared to the module version.
It has no effect on Steam downloading things.

It actually does not do that.HousePet wrote:Auto turns the addon on or off depending on the version numbers of the addons compared to the module version.
The addon version number has no effect that I can detect. Both larger and smaller version numbers will be automatically loaded.

Then what does it do???

Re: Addons menu question
I think it does, actually. My old 0.92.whatever addons refuse to load on auto.
Addons: Arcane Blade Tweaks, Fallen Race, Monk Class, Weapons Pack
Currently working on Elementals. It's a big project, so any help would be appreciated.

My 1.1.6 addons do load in 1.1.5, and so do other people's 1.0.4 addons.grayswandir wrote:I think it does, actually. My old 0.92.whatever addons refuse to load on auto.
Someone should read the code, guessing won't help, nor will assuming that it does something at all... it might be a planned feature which isn't implemented yet, like the Possession tree.

Re: Addons menu question
Well until I get confirmation, it's probably best to avoid using the workshop to keep my characters safe from spontaneous addon pdates.
Re: Addons menu question
Its a fairly rare occurrence that is fixed in 1.2
