imbue item quest reward

so i tried searching on this, imbue came up with 400 results, and the term quest was ignored. so excuse me if this has been brought up before
i was thinking as a reward for some quest, we could get the chance to imbue a white item, like the horadric malus quest in diablo2.
this would make you value white items more, and make you actively search for one fitting your current build.
what do you think?

There are several ways to modify white items, using various gems. Belts, hats, and armors can be imbued with a gem, using alchemist escort, a category point, 6 generic points, and the Crafty Hands prodigy. The Crystal Focus and Crystal Heart can combine with white weapons and armors respectively to form a powerful arcane set. Rings can be imbued in Angolwen, and the jeweler on the sunwall can imbue an amulet with TWO gems, through a difficult and unique quest.

Just to correct something: The amulet lets you put in two gems, and than he'll put in a random third one on top of it.
