favourite class?

#1 Post by grobblewobble »

Searched for a thread like this, but couldn't find it.

Yesterday I unlocked this new "Solipsist" class. A class that is all about falling asleep, making others fall asleep, having nightmares, insomnia and drinking too much coffee. Man, I feel like I'm playing myself! My new favourite. :D

So what is your fav?

Doomed. Different, quirky, fun, and allow for very very different builds. Too bad about mental tyranny nerf.

I'd have to say Mindslayer.
Stronk is a potent combatant with a terrifying appearance.

Marauders are my favorite, because the Thuggery tree is the best tree in the game. Also, they play like 3 different classes - Rogue, Barbarian and Badass.

Archmage. So many playable builds in one class.
Check out my addons: Nullpack (classes), Null Tweaks (items & talents), and New Gems fork.

I'd say probably Doomed and Paradox Mage. Both are very unique in both flavor and playstyle, and have a lot of options available to them from a build perspective

Me too! Paradox Mage is just pure fun, highly mobile, pretty good damage, tremendous control options, messing with the timestream. Cursed runs at 3rd place.

The most fun (not necessarily best) classes in my opinion are Arcane Blade, Archmage, Necromancer, Stone Warden, and Cursed.
My wiki page, which contains a guide and resource compilation and class tier list.

I unlocked them to try it out. Sort of different berserker. Less HP, better talents. Very cool.

THREADNOMANCY!!

Now that I have at least some experience with all classes except paradox mage (which I don't even want to try) and some wins too, I'm ready to form an articulated opinion. So here are my favourites in no particular order.

Psionics
Yes, both of them. I don't usually care TOME ranged combatants that much at all but solipsist has some interesting mechanics (solipsism), ranged options (inner demons, confuse/brainlock) and a huge variety on how to build your class. A fun and unique class. Mindslayer is kind of all over the place with its talents but I like it regardless of that. It's the only class I have two wins with. It's fun to have close or over 100 in every stat except magic in the end game . And the bump damage output with reshape weapon + three mindstars is just...........no words, really. I don't mind the shield management.

Stone warden
Just unlocked this and seems very fun indeed. It's like a more interesting and more powerful version of a bulwark (although I haven't won with my SW character yet so we'll see about the endgame power). Its class trees seem very good but you can't unlock all of them so there is decision-making also going on. Stone alchemy rules.

Marauder
In the endgame incredible mobility with incredible damage combined with incredible unstoppable. Hope they get some defences when unstoppable goes because I don't want this to end up like rogue 2 but without traps.

Closely following these 4 are berserker and cursed.

So overall it seems that I prefer melee characters.

archmage (i tend to play anything else as archmage - sleepless solipsist, petless necromancer etc, my recent try to play oozemancer as archmage ended that i gave up and began to level up oozes ><) and archer, those generally are my favorite classes in other games too, i remember when i quit tome long ago (and lost a very promising save, my first trip to west back and back again -_-) i went to play an elven archer in mabinogi using the very same name which my elven archer in tome had. it annoys me though that with all that reload introduction etc i should actually play a slinger now, i don't like slings, i like bows

For me, Archmage is Disruption Shiled.

Sometimes the classics are the best. Cursed and Berserker are definitely my favorites.

Necromancer. Nightfall is so effective for a single tree - lots of power, range, and control. All those other trees necromancers get? Gravy.
When in trouble / or in doubt / run in circles / scream and shout.
