Currently, when you bump into an enemy, you always use the Attack talent. I propose to change this so that you can specify other talents to be used instead, with Attack as the default if no other talents are specified (or if they're all unusable). The reason I'd prefer this to the current "auto-use when enemies are visible and adjacent" is that there are classes which have talents that are usually better than Attack, but still not something you always want to use in melee. For instance, if an Alchemist winds up adjacent to an enemy, it's generally a good idea to get out of melee range; however, if the Alchemist is cornered, it's almost always better to throw bombs and channel staff blasts at point-blank range than to hit the enemy with a regular melee attack. For contrast, a Staff Reaver wants to be in melee range, and has a number of fun talents to ruin enemy's days; however, if the Reaver doesn't want to use those talents, then Channel Staff is a better default than Attack, since it triggers Corrupted Strength's superior blight attack.
Remember, the Attack talent can be thrown into the hotbar, so it's also possible to add a somewhat more situational talent (ie Fear the Night for its knockback), safe in the knowledge that you can always use Attack instead if it's necessary.

Can't think of any reason *not* to have this, so ya, totally a +1 from me. Could just be one of the options that comes up when you right click a skill.

In truth, I was shocked when it wasn't. So make that +2.
