Blood Knight class

Re: Blood Knight class
I played a Dwarf Blood Knight to level 10 and up until then it was really nice, though that might have been just cause of STR and Dwarf combo with Rush maxed.
Had to invest some time on my running brawler to get it out of the way, but at least now I have a start going with it.
One strange thing I noticed was I believe with the general blood tree, forgot the name. I had the first two talents active and they couldn't be used with one handed weapon. What escapes me is the raining behind this as one handed sword is but a smaller two handed one.
It was no biggie though as I soon found a nice two hander.

Just wanted to drop in and say that I downloaded v1 and I love it! The new bleed effect looks excellent!

Well, its true, the class is designed with big 2h weapons in mind. I will point it out better in the class description. One strange thing I noticed was I believe with the general blood tree, forgot the name. Great! I'm glad, you like it:)Just wanted to drop in and say that I downloaded v1 and I love it! The new bleed effect looks excellent!
Try the v2. One talent had a nasty bug in v1, making it quite OP. Now its toned down to work as designed. The class trees unlocks have been shifted to ensure a quicker remedy to cut-immune mobs.

Re: Blood Knight class
v2 looks far better than v1. I can't say I noticed the bug. One thing that I noticed (unsure if it changed in v1) is that initially, the only method the class has for making an enemy bleed is a rush-esque talent, meaning once I"m in melee, I can't make enemies bleed. Is that intentional?
Also, I like the newly unlocked lv6-15 tree. It's a great change of pace from many classes that I tend to play, where the early game is utter hell until level 12 *cough cough Shadow Doomed cough cough*

Yes, it works as designed. At the beginning you kill the mobs quick enough. When you progress, more ways of applying bleed effect will be available (starting at lev 4 with the talent Red Mist). One thing that I noticed (unsure if it changed in v1) is that initially, the only method the class has for making an enemy bleed is a rush-esque talent, meaning once I"m in melee, I can't make enemies bleed. Re: Blood Knight class
Nothing wrong with that but I can't just understand how one could not make people bleed with a smaller instrument of death.MisiuPysiu wrote:Well, its true, the class is designed with big 2h weapons in mind. Two handed blunt weapon making bleed seems more absurd than one handed bladed weapon.
Sure I understand game play wise that big single weapon is the thing, but an actual reason why blood knight refuses a one hander would be nice. You could always tweak it so that one handed is allowed too as long as it's wielded alone without say a shields or a mindstar. This way the class wouldn't be much off.
Also making oneself bleed is the thing here, so why use heavy armor to prevent damage?

Re: Blood Knight class
The idea behind 2h weapons is similar to the idea the berserker class is based on. You have a guy with a big 2hander which he swings around. The damage skills reflect that. But maybe you are right here - 1h weapons should work too.Sure I understand game play wise that big single weapon is the thing, but an actual reason why blood knight refuses a one hander would be nice. You aren't forced to wear heavy armor at all. But if you want to, you can. Do you think this is to OP? Also notice, that selfbleed is actually a method of preventing damage that would normally be done instantly. Also it buffs you later on.Also making oneself bleed is the thing here, so why use heavy armor to prevent damage?

Re: Blood Knight class
I think that, unless you have a specific, strong reason as to why the Blood Knight sticks with 2 handers (like, it's the berserker's whole reason for existing), it should be up to the player to decide what kind of weapons they want to wield. 2 handers do seem better, because they have higher single-hit weapon damage, which many Blood Knight talents scale off of.MisiuPysiu wrote:The idea behind 2h weapons is similar to the idea the berserker class is based on. I will change the restrictions in the next version to (sword, 2h sword, axe, 2h axe, dagger)
Blunt weapons wont be allowed to use with the skills provided.

Don't forget to include Psiblades! They are blades, after all, and Str/Wil/Con Blood Knights are something I can easily envision because antimagic is so synergistic with the class!MisiuPysiu wrote:You convinced me.I think that, unless you have a specific, strong reason as to why the Blood Knight sticks with 2 handers (like, it's the berserker's whole reason for existing), it should be up to the player to decide what kind of weapons they want to wield. 2 handers do seem better, because they have higher single-hit weapon damage, which many Blood Knight talents scale off of.

Yes, that can be done:)Don't forget to include Psiblades! They are blades, after all, and Str/Wil/Con Blood Knights are something I can easily envision because antimagic is so synergistic with the class!
Re: Blood Knight class
Honestly, being restricted to 2h is somewhat of a good thing in my mind if only because there's a crazy lack of classes in TOME that even consistently use them. But that's neither here nor there, I suppose, and it's hard to argue against having more choices instead of less.
I have to say, I've taken my first Blood Knight up to the Prides on roguelike mode and this class is probably one of the more fun ones I've played, so great job on that. Bloodexplosion is an insanely hilarious skill and incredibly satisfying to use, and having a class that deals with bleed effects is pretty interesting since they're rather underrepresented currently.
I'm gonna hold off on talking about balance stuff until the one I have dies/wins, though, so I can get as full of a picture as possible.

I second this. I'm having a blast playing this class. Super-tanky through regen, and blood is a wonderful and unique theme!this class is probably one of the more fun ones I've played,
