Something seems to have affected the subscription to the addon, so it wasn't updating automatically through Steam.

I resubscribed on the workshop page and everything seems fine now. I'm having loads of fun with a blackback doomed!

For reasons unknown to me, the original steam page stopped updating and a new one appeared. If you're still subbed to the old one, be sure to grab the new one!

Does/should befriend animal work on rares? What about randomly generated uniques with the 'boss' label?

The starting rune is a nice touch!

My starting animal companion still shows up as a member of the party after I get a new animal at level 4. It is there on the top of the screen and shows as an option to send equipment to, but cannot be controlled or summoned. I can even set its tactical AI, but I can't set my new companion's.

After using befriend animal on a boss for the damage, my companion correctly disappeared but was still able to be healed/summoned with animal care. It shows up as friendly but not controllable/a party member when revived this way.

Exactly which slots should companions have? Does it depend on the type of animal? I have a snake with primary/offhand and armor... I can just imagine giving weapons and armor to a swarm!

Can you actually equip to those slots? Only the armor should actually work.

Nope, just tried it and got a lua error when I tried to equip to the mainhand slot.

Patch now live that fixes the sticky starter pet.

Also, a new power at long last. Let me know how it spins. I'll work on giving them a new equipdoll so they don't show slots you can't use.

But wait, there's more. I fixed the equipdolls on both the starter and any future animals you charm, so you'll only see the body slot, which is the only one you can use anyway.

Lots of dire bugfixes as pointed out to me over on the IRC channel.

Pet is no longer deleted before you get a new pet.
Buying up feline's fourth talent no longer errors.
Grasping earth's sound turned off.
Third power added to show those martial folk to stay away.
Getting Zoology allows vermin along with insects.

Apologies, forgot to update the tooltips on zoology and befriend. They'll be updated on the next patch, promise. <3

You might want to find a way to mute befriended animals. I forgot to mention that earlier because I try to ignore it but if you're decently injured and you go to rest, you'll hear your wolf, bear, or snake, start using its sound files quite often. lol
