How do I get Armour Training on a character?

I asked in game and some players told me to go to Last Hope, go to a shop and pay 50g to get it, but I went to all the shops and the only option I had was to learn Bow/Sling Mastery for 8g. This is a screenshot of what I'm seeing.

Is one of my stats not high enough? If so, what is the requirement to learning this ability?

The only requirement is to have 50 gold and not already have it unlocked.

Yes, I am playing Summoner. Are they not able to purchase it? I was able to get it just now by leveling up and putting points into it, but I was hoping to just pay gold and avoid using points.

As a summoner you start with it unlocked.
Buying the training from the shop only unlocks it, not levels it.

Also remember that you have to be wearing heavy or massive armor for the bonuses to start kicking in. Otherwise, buying levels just gives you the ability to wear certain pieces.
